Salary: $17.14 - $20.84 Hourly
NOTE: The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligibility list from which the current part-time/hourly vacancy as well as future similar vacancies may be filled. The incumbent in this position will work a varied schedule (nights, weekends, days), not to exceed 19 hours per week. Schedule will vary from week to week and month to month as needed for productions. DUTIES: Under supervision, assists in performing video pre-production, production and post-production assignments in support of the City's government television channel - TOTV. The Video Production Specialist Trainee assists in the operation of TOTV’s playback system, performs field and studio production assignments, and assists in the set-up and operation of video production equipment in support of public meeting cablecasts. Performs related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: Basic television production techniques and practices and industry standard television equipment and methods of operation necessary to broadcasting on a government channel. Ability to: - Operate field and remotely operated video cameras and audio equipment - Set up video production equipment for both studio and remote site usage - Edit on non-linear AVID based systems - Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; exercise sound independent judgment within guidelines; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, associates, other production personnel and the public. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Graduation from or current enrollment in a college or university with a major in telecommunications, television production or a closely related field. One year experience in television programming and/or production; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid Class C California driver’s license required.
