The City of Brisbane is currently recruiting certified Lifeguards for our beautiful outdoor aquatic facility. Lifeguards patrol and watch the activities in and around the community swimming pool, enforce regulations to prevent accidents, and rescue swimmers in distress.
SALARY AND HOURS: $12.23 - $14.86 per hour. (Part time position - No other benefits are offered.) Early morning and mid-day shifts available Monday through Friday. However, candidates that make the eligibility list may be selected for other shifts as needed.
Education – Graduation from high school or GED equivalent is desirable. This provision may be waived for applicants 15 to 18 years of age with ability to obtain a valid work permit.
Experience – Previous experience as a lifeguard and WSI certification is desirable.
Special Requirements – Current Standard First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Lifeguarding certificates are required. Applicants appointed to this position must be able to obtain Oxygen Administration certification within a year of employment.

Applications will be screened and a limited number of the most qualified candidates will be invited to an interview with the Head Lifeguards. A passing score of 70% is required to make the eligibility list. Recommendations for appointment will be made to the Director of Marina and Aquatics Services, who will make the final decision. Depending on the number of applicants, this process may be altered. Prior to appointment, a background check, including fingerprinting for submission to the Department of Justice must be completed, as well as TB testing.
