The City of Citrus Heights is seeking a experienced individual to join us to provide receptionist, clerical  and customer service assistance in a creative and customer-oriented work environment. This position is a entry level classification primarily responsible for receiving calls and directing visitors. as the City's first-point-of-contact.


The receptionist is the City's first-point-of-contact and will perform a wide variety of office support, and clerical duties and activities of a general nature in support of the assigned department, division, or program area; provide information and assistance to other agencies, City staff, and the general public; receive, route, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.  Applicants for this position should have proven responsible front counter receptionist, clerical and customer support experience by phone and in person and possess basic computer skills in database, word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail/scheduling applications (experience with Microsoft software is preferred).

·         Methods and techniques of proper phone etiquette.
 
·         Customer service and public relations methods and techniques.
 
·         English usage, spelling grammar, and punctuation.
 
·         Office procedures, methods, and equipment, including computers.
 
·         Basic computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
 
·         Records management principles and procedures.
 
·         Basic math.
 
·         Basic principles of business letter writing and report preparation.

 


Benefits:

The hiring salary may be set anywhere within the salary range, based on a candidate’s experience and current compensation. The City offers first class benefits, including: CalPERS retirement (requires employee contribution), 136 hours of Annual Leave (to be used for vacation or sick time); 40 hours of Long Term Medical Leave; a monthly City contribution toward health insurance, and if qualifying alternative health care coverage is demonstrated, a $500/month cash-out may be added to salary or deferred compensation; and fully paid family dental, family vision, life, and long-term disability insurance. The City does not participate in Social Security but does participate in Medicare and State Disability Insurance (SDI).
