The City of Rancho Cucamonga is currently seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual for the part-time position of Assistant Pool Manager - Aquatics, “Learn to Swim” program. Under direct supervision of the Community Services Coordinator and Pool Manager assists with the implementation of a City Wide aquatic program including swim lessons, recreational swim, pool rentals and other related activities as assigned. The Assistant Pool Manager must be available for the duration of the summer program on a daily basis beginning May 6 through August 12, 2013 and must be able to work 25-30 hours a week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

The City of Rancho Cucamonga Community Services Department provides recreation, quality of life services and special events for the over 170,000 residents of Rancho Cucamonga. Each year, hundreds of thousands of participants enjoy our Sports, Senior Citizen, Performing Arts, Youth and Teen programs and classes. From newborns to golden years – active to passive – athletic to crafty – our programs offer something for everyone. Our Special Events Division also provides multiple opportunities throughout the year for residents to gather as a community to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Fourth of July, Concerts in the Park, Founders Day Parade and more. Creating community through people, parks and programs, the Community Services Department sets a very high standard of excellence. We are looking for creative, professional and team-oriented individuals who are willing to go the extra mile and embrace our motto: “Touching Every Life.”



Assist in the organizing and supervision of all pool/aquatic programs and activities; assist with in-service training; assist in the daily supervision of aquatic staff and Jr. Lifeguards; ensure cleanliness of pool water and record information on a daily log book; perform duties of assigned Instructor Guard II's as needed; maintain daily attendance records; assist in class registration; act as Pool Manager in their absence and maintain a positive and productive image.



Must be 18 years of age or older and possess current Lifeguarding or Water Safety Instructor Certification, Standard First Aid, Basic Life Support or Level C CPR, EMSA certificate. City will provide EMSA (Title 22) class within 30 days of employment.

Provide proof of a valid California driver’s license and be insurable; and
