The Community Resources Specialist is responsible for performing a wide variety of community and recreation service support functions in the Parks and Recreation Department. Under general supervision, assists, plans, coordinates, and implements programs, services and activities for the community; depending on the area of assignment, assists with developing program content, provides public assistance, including explanation of activities and programs, records reservations for classes and trips, oversees indoor facility rentals, and participates in set-up and tear down of events; and performs other related duties as required.
Applicants must have computer systems knowledge and a desire to work with members of the Senior Center.
Education and/or Experience:Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Community Resources Specialist. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of college, and the equivalent of two years of responsible experience in recreation programs. Relevant experience in municipal or private leisure service agencies may be counted in lieu of college work.
By reason of part-time status, such employees are not eligible for full-time benefits, but are subject to deductions for Public Agency Retirement Services (PARS). The City does not participate in the Social Security System.
