The City of San Jose is currently recruiting for Senior Account Clerk. This classification performs a variety of accounting, arithmetic calculations and clerical duties. Senior Account Clerk positions are located in all City departments.
Typical duties may include the following:
Review, post and balance ledgers and other documents; process and review revenue, review and balance petty cash and/or change funds.
Conduct and maintain inventory of stores, equipment and supplies.
Compile and process payment and/or requisitions for various financial transactions; assign payment to cost centers.
Prepare worksheet, financial charges and invoices, issue and maintain records of parking permits.
Prepare special checks.
Summarize data and prepare reports; prepare routine correspondence.
Prepare payroll and serve as department timekeeper.
Operate MS Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access; computerize financial software applications; and a variety of office machines.
May serve as Lead worker as assigned.
