Senior Civil Engineer Salary: $8042-$9719 monthly Excellent benefits package The City of Menlo Park, population approximately 31,000, is one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s premier business and residential communities. The City is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with excellent technical/analytical skills to be a part of our Public Works Team. Under the general direction of the Engineering Services Manager, the incumbent will manage the activities of an assigned Section of the Engineering Services Division. Employees in this classification supervise and perform the most complex Engineering duties, consistent with someone who has obtained the highest level of proficiency in the area assigned. Successful applicants will possess knowledge in the principles and practices of Civil Engineering; principles of supervision; project management concepts and tools; applicable municipal regulations and standards, and applicable laws and regulations of other agencies; modern methods and techniques used in design, construction, and maintenance of public works facilities; public works construction equipment and materials; computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, project management, civil engineering design and land use management. Minimum qualifications for this position are: Five years of professional civil engineering experience, at least two years of which must be in a supervisory capacity; advanced education may be substituted for experience on a year-to-year basis; possession of a valid California Driver’s License; graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; current registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in good standing with the State of California.
