AQUATICS SPECIALIST I (LIFEGUARD/SWIM INSTRUCTOR AIDE): $8.15 - $9.91 hourly (Minimum wage increase 7/1/14, salary will be adjusted.)

We are accepting applicaitons until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2013.  PERS Retired Annuitants are not eligible to apply.

Under direction of the Pool/Facilities Manager or Assistant Pool/Facilities Manager, provides swimming instruction and lifeguards; ensures safety of pool patrons through accident prevention, first aid, and water rescue techniques; follows City of Roseville techniques and lesson plans for purposeful, progressive swimming lessons for all age groups and multi ability levels; and performs related work as required.

Education: Equivalent to completion of the tenth (10th) grade or fifteen (15) years of age.

Experience: None required.

License or Certificate: Possession of a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certificate; American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certificate; American Red Cross Title 22 First Aid for Public Personnel certificate; and American Red Cross Administering Emergency Oxygen certificate upon date of appointment. Possession of a current Roseville Swim Instructor I (RSI I) certificate is desired. 

Please note:  All required certifications must be completed by date of hire.

On a continuous basis:  work outdoors in or around water, exposed to extreme head; know and understand assignkment and observe safety rules; stand, bend, climb, swim when instructing or assisting class particpants.


All applications will be screend by the Human Resources Department for minimum qualifications.  Qualifiying applicants may be contaced by the Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department to interview.  Appointment is contingent upon passing a City-paid pre-employment physical, a drug and alcohol screening test, and a fingerprint check.
