 Salary: $13.00 - $14.33 per hour

Under general direction, this position supervises a variety of aquatic activities at a community swimming pool.
Senior Lifeguards must have:
  • Current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent
  • Tittle 22 First Aid Certification (within the first 6 months of employment)
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification (within first year of employment)
  • Experience as a lifeguard and swim instructor for minimum of 1 season
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, subordinates, and the public
  • Possession of a valid class "C" California Driver's License


  • Opening and closing aquatic areas at appropriate times
  • Conducting and recording water tests and monitoring the filtration system
  • Performing outstanding service
  • Serving as a liaison between Lifeguard staff and Aquatic management (report any problems)
  • Assisting with leading staff meetings and in-services
  • Responsibilities of Lifeguards are also expected of Senior Lifeguards
  • Completing other duties as assigned


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, swim, sit, talk and hear
  • The employee is required to use hands and fingers, handle feel or operate object, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • The employee is required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • The employee must occasionally lift, pull, push and/or move heavy items
  • Specific vision required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus

 WORK ENVIRONMENT:                                                                                                      While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in outside wather conditions

  • Employees will be exposed to outside temeratures ranging from 80-110 degrees
  • Duties are typically performed in direct sunlight. The employee is exposed to hot, wet, and humid conditions
  • The employee is exposed to cleaning chemical that must be handled with extreme caution






  •  No benefits assigned to part-time position
