Community Childcare Site Supervisor

Under the direct supervision of the Early Care and Education (ECE) Manager, the ECE Site Supervisor manages all aspects of a State Perschool Program (SPP) and/or Age Program (SAP). He/she must also perform a variety of other tasks in support of assigned area of responsibility.
Any combination of education and experience that has provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for the position. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess:
Education and/or Experience: Child Development Permit, Site Supervisor level or higher. This requires the applicant to have; 350 days of 4+ hours working in the classroom with at least 100 days supervising adults, 24 ECE units (specific), 16 GE units (specific), 6 Admin units, and 2 Adult Supervision units from an accredited university/school. License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California driver's license. Possession of, or ability to obtain upon hire, a Children's Center Permit, Site Supervisor level or higher: must apply within 90 days of hire.
May include, but are not limited to the following:
Oversee planning and executing age-appropriate activities that enrich the child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical attributes.
Maintain proper documentation in accordance with State Licensing requirements and State Department of Education requirements.
Supervise teachers, aides, volunteers, and other assigned staff.
Demonstrate a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties.
Operate the site in a clean, orderly, safe and efficient manner and in accordance with State Licensing and State Department of Education requirements.
Interact with clients on a daily basis; interpret and explain program rules and regulations to clients and resolve problems and complaints; prepare written reports and other communications regarding client interactions.
Coordinating program activities with the other child care program supervisors and personnel, City departments/divisions, teachers, external commissions and boards, staff and local community groups.
Perform other related duties as required.
