The intern will work with staff in the City Manager’s Office on the High Speed Rail project by researching and summarizing documents produced by High Speed Rail Authority, updating City websites, working with volunteer groups and make presentations to City and community stakeholders. The intern will be involved with the largest transportation project ever envisioned in California and the largest capital project contemplated in the nation. There would be opportunity for the intern to see first hand political decision making at the regional, state and national level. The intern would also have exposure to a cross section of internal City departments who also have a role in the implementation of high speed rail.
