Description

The City of Albany is seeking motivated and energetic candidates for the City of Albany Friendship Club providing after school activities to school-aged children.  The Program Leader II is a part-time position working approximately 20-25 hours per week and plays a key role in the programs provided to children in our community.  General working hours are Monday through Friday from 1:30 to 6:30pm.

Typical Job Duties

  • Facilitate and supervise indoor/outdoor game activities for participants

  • Facilitate and supervise homework activities and mathematics tutoring

  • Administer snack to participants

  • Council and administer redirection instruction to participants when necessary

  • Provide after school child care
  • Pick-up and drop off students

Minimum Requirements

  • Three years of work experience in leading recreational programs for school age children in an independent manner, or an equivalent

  • Must demonstrate a strong desire and aptitude for working with school age children

  • Must be able to work a flexible weekday schedule, with occasional weekend assignments

  • Specialized education in a childcare curriculum can be substituted for experience on a year for year basis
