Description

The City of Albany is seeking Program Aides to assist the Recreation & Community Services Department in programs provided to the youth and teens in our community.  The Program Aide position plays a key role in the Friendship Club Summer Camps. It is a part-time position working approximately 20-25 hours per week.  Working hours are typically Monday through Friday from either 8:00am to 1:30pm or 12:30pm to 6:00pm. The City will be filling Program Aide positions depending on experience, education and current vacancies.  

Typical Job Duties

  • Assist with the Friendship Club Summer Camps 

  • Support Program Leaders in facilitating indoor/outdoor games and homework activities for participants  

  • Maintain a fun, positive, and friendly manner 

  • Prepare snack, wash dishes or other classroom maintenance tasks 

  • May assist with other Department programs, events or tasks 

  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level

  • Works well in a fast-paced environment 

  • Is helpful and resourceful by nature  

  • Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing 

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of 10th grade
  • Must be able to work Monday – Friday for part-time shifts between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM,  
  • Must be able to provide proof of a negative TB test dated within the past two (2) years  
  • Department of Justice (DOJ) Live scan background check
