The Recreation Leader/Tiny Tot Specialist will be a member of a dynamic team charged with delivering creative, innovative, and enriching recreational programs for the Emeryville Recreation Center. This position will be primarily responsible for leading our preschool aged programs.
The Tiny Tots Specialist will be responsible for organizing and leading recreational activities including arts and crafts, sports, and games; supervising field trips, which may include bus travel to local attractions, taking attendance and assisting with record-keeping; issuing, maintaining and storing equipment and supplies; interacting with children, parents, care-givers, volunteers and City staff; ensuring the safety and well-being of program participants.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Eyesight sufficient to read data, memos, spreadsheets, vouchers, computer screens; manual dexterity to operate a personal computer, typewriter, copy machine, word processor; ability to sit for extended periods; stand, walk, bend reach above and below shoulders, lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds; stamina to interact with a variety of school age children.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must be at least 16 years of age. There are no educational requirements for this position; however, experience in a structured or supervised recreational program and/or college level training in Recreation, Physical Education, Education, or a related field is desirable. Salary and program assignment will be based on relevant experience in the field or college coursework.
This is a non-benefitted, part-time position.
