The City of Sunnyvale is seeking to fill the position of Library Specialist II, Part-Time with a friendly, confident, energetic, and highly motivated individual with great customer service, technical and interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate will have experience working closely with the public in a fast-paced customer-driven environment. They will possess strong communication, multitasking, and teamwork skills, and demonstrate the ability to provide excellent customer service to members of the public and staff alike.

The list established from this recruitment may also be used to fill future vacancies in the Library and Recreation Services Department which includes our Main Library and/or the future opening of Lakewood Branch Library.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience

Graduation from high school or tested equivalent; AND,
Six months of clerical, customer service or library work experience.

We are looking for a Traffic Engineer, Part-Time to manage, coordinate and oversee the City’s Traffic Calming Program. Responsibilities include working with residents on traffic calming requests, collecting data, performing analyses, conducting public outreach, developing and implementing traffic calming measures to address community concerns, conducting after studies, and preparing recommendations for City Council. This position may also perform other duties as assigned.

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering,  AND
 
Two years of experience performing relevant, professional level work in traffic, transportation or civil engineering.

Traffic Engineer: In addition to the above, current registration as a Professional Civil or Traffic Engineer issued by the State of California is required.

Requirements

This is a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) position. Candidates must successfully pass a complete background investigation including fingerprints, polygraph, psychological and medical examinations. Applicants with a felony conviction and/or a conviction outside of California that would be considered a felony in this state will be disqualified.

After passing the exam, hiring interview and screening processes, candidates are eligible to be hired as Communications Dispatcher I - Unclassified (U) and attend the 8-week Basic Communications Dispatcher Academy training program as a trainee. Communications Dispatcher I - U are eligible to become classified Communications Dispatcher I's and be considered probationary employees of County Communications. A newly appointed Communications Dispatcher I must successfully complete an 18-month probationary period during which they will be required to complete additional training under the supervision of a trainer.

POLICE RECORDS TECHNICIAN I

$4,962.25 - $6,982.33 MONTHLY BASE SALARY PLUS EXCELLENT BENEFITS! In addition to the above:

• 6.6% Holiday Pay in lieu of holidays off.
• 5% Bilingual Pay for verbal fluency in Spanish/English
• $41.67 per month uniform allowance

PRT’s typically work a 4-10 or 5-8 work schedule. Must be available to work varied shifts as well as weekends and holidays as scheduled.

An additional 5% step (Step F) is available to employees in this job classification after completion of five years of service, one year at Step E, and good performance evaluation.

An additional 5% step (Step G) is available to employees in this job classification after completion of ten years of service, one year at Step F, and good performance evaluation.

An additional 5% step (Step H) is available to employees in this job classification after completion of fifteen years of service, one year at Step F, and good performance evaluation.
