The Summer Learning Challenge is a summer library program that encourages kids, teens and adults to read or listen to books in the summer. The Challenge is a fun, interactive program for the whole family that includes free book giveaways, activities, raffles, prizes and a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship for kids ages 0-18. The program starts on June 1 and runs through the end of August.

The City of Auburn is hiring to fill a part-time, Retired Annuitant Bus Driver I/II position. Under general supervision, this position operates a bus over designated routes to transport passengers; maintains established schedule; and ensures passenger safety.
The Retired Annuitant position is limited to work no more than 960 hours per fiscal year. Placement in the class series is dependent upon qualifications. The salary range for each level is below:
- Bus Driver I: $45,864 - $58,552
- Bus Driver II: $48,152 - $61,484

The City of Dixon is recruiting Senior Lifeguard/ Swim Instructor applicants for the 2024 Aquatic Season.
Under the direction of the Assistant Pool Manager, Pool Manager, Recreation Supervisor or Recreation Manager, Senior Lifeguard/Swim Instructor performs a variety of duties to ensure the City of Dixon swimming pool is a safe and enjoyable aquatic facility. Supervises pool patrons, enforces pool rules, performs first aid and emergency rescues, instructs swim lessons, performs cashiering duties, leads recreational activities; performs related and other work as required.
The City of Dixon is preparing for the 2024 Aquatic season and is recruiting qualified Lifeguard/ Swim Instructor I/II applicants.
Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor and Senior Lifeguard/Swim Instructor, Lifeguard/Swim Instructor performs a variety of duties to ensure the City of Dixon swimming pool is a safe and enjoyable aquatic facility. This is a seasonal, part-time position.
Under the general supervision of a Public Works Streets Supervisor or Parks & Grounds Supervisor, and direction of a Maintenance II lead, incumbents in this classification assist with the cleanup and maintenance of City parks, streets, and satellite facilities including buildings, equipment, bus stops, parking lots, trails, flora and landscapes; and perform related work as required.
