The City of San José is recruiting for a Finance Applications Associate IT Manager (Enterprise Principal Technology Analyst) in the Information Technology Department. This position is responsible for the management and support of the City's enterprise Finance Management System, Revenue Management/Collection System, and Finance Reporting System. This position combines managerial and leadership responsibilities along with hands-on technical expertise to deliver day-to-day system operations. Key job duties are service level management, including service level agreements (SLAs) and Incident Management, as well as delivery of smaller projects and system enhancements. The Finance Applications Associate IT Manager is also responsible for resource and performance management of the Finance Applications IT Team.

This position requires leadership skills and the ability to take the initiative and lead others. We are seeking an individual who is willing to adapt to an ever-changing environment.

The ideal candidate should have experience supporting an enterprise-level Finance Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with solid business process knowledge and technical support experience for the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Account Receivable, Purchasing, Asset Management, Revenue Management, and Revenue Collection modules.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Providing technical leadership for the City's enterprise Finance Management System, Revenue Collection System and Reporting System.

• Leading and coordinating upgrade and enhancement projects for Finance's enterprise applications.

• Developing technical guidelines and governance framework to ensure best practices are followed.
• Assessing user needs to provide support and proactive service, including analyzing opportunities to use existing tools and workflows.
• Leading the day-to-day activities of advisory engagements for various projects, including process design, package implementation lifecycle support, and project reviews.
• Managing delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance, and enhancement tickets escalated by the end users for the portfolio of applications.
• Developing relevant metrics, measuring and publishing the performance of the services provided for continuous improvement activities.
• Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction for services and products provided.
• Working closely with all other IT management personnel in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing specific information technology to support the business plans and IT strategies.
• Coaching, mentoring, and managing staff to implement, maintain, and support all related software, configurations, and workflows.
• Hands on experience with structured query language, Windows scripting, designing and developing reports using a variety of end user reporting tools, managing applications on Windows environments.

Salary Information: The final candidate's qualifications and experience shall determine the actual salary. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Enterprise Principal Technology Analyst (EPTA) classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Gilroy Police Department is actively seeking an undergraduate-level or graduate- level Police Administration College Intern to assist police officers and other professional staff in various divisions. 1. Conducts pre-operational inspection of the transit vehicle, in accordance with federal and state laws and departmental regulations, to ensure it is functioning properly.
2. Inspects the passenger compartment of the vehicle to ensure it is free from hazards (such as spills, loose handrails and stanchions, defective seats, etc.) and that the video camera lenses are not obscured.
3. Safely navigates the vehicle through traffic along assigned routes, under various environmental conditions, in accordance with traffic laws and departmental regulations.
4. Operates the disability access lifts to assist people in wheelchairs onto the vehicle and properly secures their wheelchairs when they are on the vehicle.
5. Collects fares from passengers and issues transfers; checks passenger transfers, fast passes, and electronic passes to ensure they are valid.

Nature of Work: Incumbents in this class may be required to work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends; to work outdoors in all weather conditions; and to use computers. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has determined that Class 9163 Transit Operator is a “safety-sensitive” position, under regulations issued by the Federal Transit Administration (49 CFR Part 655). Federal law requires that all transit employees who perform safety-sensitive functions be subject to random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty and follow-up drug and alcohol testing. All applicants for Safety-Sensitive positions shall undergo urine drug testing prior to employment and within 90 days prior to performing Safety-Sensitive functions for the first time. Receipt by the SFMTA of a negative test result is required prior to the employee being placed on the payroll. A positive, adulterated, negative dilute or substituted test will result in a decision not to hire, and the applicant’s name will be removed from the list of eligibles for Safety-Sensitive positions. The SFMTA will not consider hiring any person who tested positive, adulterated, substituted or refused to submit to testing for a minimum of two years following the positive test.

Applicants who are successful in the examination process and who do not possess a Class B Driver License with Passenger (P) endorsement and airbrakes, will be required to obtain a Class B Driver Permit with Passenger (P) endorsement and airbrakes prior to starting the Transit Operator training.

Transit Operator Training:
All employees must successfully complete the SFMTA Operator Training Program consisting of both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. The rate of pay for a trainee is $31.0375 per hour.

Attendance to all training sessions is required. If a candidate misses any dates of training without providing proper notification, they will be released from their training class. If proper notification was provided, a candidate released during the training period due to attendance may request to be placed back on the eligible list to be considered for future classes, if the list from which they were hired is still active. Candidates may only request to be placed back on the eligible list one time.  Any candidate not approved to be placed back on the list or not able to be placed in another training class before the list expires will need to re-apply during the next filing period for applications.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS:

TRANSIT PLANNER ASSISTANT

This is the entry-level class in the Transit Planner series and will receive direction and guidance from the Transit Manager. • Assist in/Evaluates* the planning, operations and activities of the City’s public transit programs (fixed route, paratransit, and microtransit).
• Assist in/Coordinates* a variety of studies for the preparation, analysis, or evaluation of reports and grant requests.
