The City of Berkeley invites applications for the position of Housing Inspector II (Certified)! In this role, you will perform skilled inspection work with City residential housing inspection programs. You will independently perform the full scope of work in the investigation, reporting and follow-up of housing deficiencies to gain compliance with housing, building, zoning, fire, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and related codes and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• An International Code Council (ICC) OR California (CA) certification in Residential Building or Housing Inspection or in Code Enforcement; and

The examination simulates some of the duties and situations a 911 Communications Dispatcher might encounter on the job.  No specialized knowledge or skills are required to take the exam. 

The CritiCall exam tests for skills and abilities in areas such as decision-making, data entry, call summarization, multi-tasking, cross-referencing, vocalization, character comparison, memory recall, prioritization, mathematics, probability, map reading, reading comprehension, spelling, and sentence clarity.
 
Once the recruitment closes and all applications have been screened, applicants whose applications pass the screening will be sent a link to take the CritiCall exam.  Applicants will have up to ten days to complete the exam.  Complete instructions will be sent in the correspondence regarding registering for and taking the exam.  The exam can be taken at the convenience of the test taker, during the ten specified days.

San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is seeking a highly-qualified Social Worker III - Discharge Planner/Case Manager to provide highly skilled, intensive discharge planning and case management to individuals and their families, and provide casework consultation within SMMC and to outside agencies.

The Social Worker III - Discharge Planner/Case Manager position will support SMMC to provide services related to discharge planning/case management on various units of the hospital, including the Medical/Surgical unit, Intensive Care Unit, Acute Psychiatry unit, Short Term Rehabilitation unit, Emergency Room, and Psychiatric Emergency Services. This includes needs assessment, assistance in financial resource management, crisis management, service delivery planning and follow up, and referrals to public, community-based services and programs. The candidate should be familiar with the rules and regulations governing skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working in an acute care hospital setting performing discharge planning, including appropriate documentation in accordance with all Medicare and Medi-Cal regulations, and should be experienced working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and LEAN principles.

This position drives a Readi-Ride General Public Paratransit Vehicle (GPPV) on a demand responsive curb-to-curb transit system and assist patrons boarding and leaving the bus, especially the elderly, disabled, and school age children. May also assist in collecting information relating to the operation of the system; receive ride requests and organize the vehicle pick-ups and drop-offs; and, will work closely with the drivers and Transit Supervisor to ensure coordinated efforts.

Village Park Preschool Program

Village Park Preschool is a play-based preschool program offered by the City of Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department. We offer 5 programs: Lil’ Sprouts (2 year olds), Cottage Kids (3 year olds), Playschool Villagers (3 year olds), Afternoon Owls (3 year olds), and Camp Treehouse (3-4 year olds).  The emphasis of the program is physical, social, and emotional growth in a child-centered environment. Activities are designed to foster a healthy child that develops an early love of learning. Definition: Preschool Site Coordinator

The City of Burlingame is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, creative, and responsible Preschool Site Coordinator. Under direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Village Park Preschool ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role involves managing staff, coordinating programs, communicating with parents, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties

• Program Oversite
  • Coordinate with teachers and staff to ensure lesson plans, schedules, and classroom activities align with educational standards and goals.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as needed to meet the needs of children and families.
  • Manage supply lists and shop for required materials.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Lead a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time.
  • Develop and plan activities for preschool summer camp
  • Change diapers and support toilet training.

• Staff Management 
  • Train and supervise teaching staff.
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities to staff to enhance their skills and performance.

• Parent Communication 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a responsive and professional manner.
  • Facilitate open communication and collaboration between parents, teachers, and staff to promote a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Send emails to parents with child and class updates.

• Administrative Duties 
  • Prepare monthly newsletter.
  • Manage Village Park Preschool Instagram.
  • Complete assigned paperwork, including timecards and incident reports.

• Safety and Compliance 
  • ​​​​​​​Enforce policies and procedures related to child supervision, hygiene, emergency preparedness, and security measures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and materials to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

The City of San José is recruiting for a Finance Applications Associate IT Manager (Enterprise Principal Technology Analyst) in the Information Technology Department. This position is responsible for the management and support of the City's enterprise Finance Management System, Revenue Management/Collection System, and Finance Reporting System. This position combines managerial and leadership responsibilities along with hands-on technical expertise to deliver day-to-day system operations. Key job duties are service level management, including service level agreements (SLAs) and Incident Management, as well as delivery of smaller projects and system enhancements. The Finance Applications Associate IT Manager is also responsible for resource and performance management of the Finance Applications IT Team.

This position requires leadership skills and the ability to take the initiative and lead others. We are seeking an individual who is willing to adapt to an ever-changing environment.

The ideal candidate should have experience supporting an enterprise-level Finance Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with solid business process knowledge and technical support experience for the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Account Receivable, Purchasing, Asset Management, Revenue Management, and Revenue Collection modules.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Providing technical leadership for the City's enterprise Finance Management System, Revenue Collection System and Reporting System.
• Partnering with business owners and stakeholders to identify high level business and information system requirements and recommending business process/workflow redesign where applicable.
• Leading and coordinating upgrade and enhancement projects for Finance's enterprise applications.

• Assessing user needs to provide support and proactive service, including analyzing opportunities to use existing tools and workflows.

• Managing delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance, and enhancement tickets escalated by the end users for the portfolio of applications.

Salary Information: The final candidate's qualifications and experience shall determine the actual salary. Essential Duties

• Plan, organize, and implement activities that support early childhood education and socialization;
• Lead a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time;
• Ensure proper safety precautions are observed;
• Maintain and care for supplies, equipment, and the facility;
• Report any supply requests and facility maintenance needs;
• Set up daily snack, change diapers and support toilet training;
• Help with preparation of monthly newsletter;
• Complete assigned paperwork, including time cards and incident and accident reports;
• Communicate regularly with parents and staff to disseminate information and build positive relationships;
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Must be a mature, dependable, responsible, and understanding person who is able to work cooperatively with children, staff and parents.
