GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Under general direction, an incumbent in the Eligibility Worker II class performs progressively responsible and independent work. This classification is journey level of the Eligibility Worker classification series.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
SMART is a new commuter rail service located in Marin and Sonoma counties in Northern California. Under direction of the Track Maintenance Supervisor, the Track Maintainer position is responsible for railroad track inspections, maintenance and repair. This position will be responsible for the inspection, testing and diagnostic analysis of SMART’s track. This position will operate equipment, including on-track equipment and vehicles necessary for track maintenance, repair and other rail support activities.
DOT is currently recruiting to fill full-time Associate Construction Inspector (ACI) positions in the Street Pavement Maintenance, Trees and Sidewalks, and Landscape sections.
ACI key responsibilities:
STREET PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE: The ACI in this section typically oversees pavement and concrete work by ensuring quality workmanship and contractor compliance with City Standard Specifications. The ACI will also perform significant project scoping and quantification work for project preparation under the supervision of a Senior Construction Inspector (SCI).

Under general supervision, the Vehicle Maintenance Technician position performs skilled preventative, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, primary and secondary repair and modification to mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and components found on commuter rail diesel multiple unit (DMU) vehicles and supporting systems.
