As the Human Resources Supervisor, you will serve as an HR generalist while performing high-level Human Resources functions. You will support the Human Resources and Administration Manager and oversee the day-to-day activities of one HR Technician. As the Human Resources Supervisor, you will have a strong understanding of personnel/HR administration, employee relations, recruitment, classification and compensation, labor relations, civil service employment, and training and development. The successful candidate will have exemplary relationship-building skills, as this role involves maintaining effective working relationships with department management personnel, public officials, and employees. You will provide guidance, mentorship, collaboration, and oversight to encourage professional development and to ensure compliance within the agency. Some key initiatives you’ll work on:
- Data Mastery: Dive into the numbers to uncover trends, patterns, and valuable insights that will guide strategic decision-making.
- Talent Optimization: Work closely with the HR team to identify and implement strategies for talent acquisition, development, and retention.
- Reporting and Visualization: Create compelling reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate HR topics to leadership and agency staff.
- NEOGOV Integration (HRIS): Leverage NEOGOV tools to streamline processes and enhance the overall efficiency of our HR operations. A HUGE plus to candidates who have worked in NEOGOV.
- Benchmarking: Stay abreast of industry laws, regulations, trends, and best practices and conduct benchmarking analysis to ensure our HR practices remain competitive.
In your first 6 months you will hit the ground running helping to revamp the performance evaluation forms, processes and digitize it into the NEOGOV module. In addition, work with the HR Technician to evaluate current recruitment processes and make changes for consistency and efficiency. You will also have the opportunity to work with the HR/Admin Manager to support an agency-wide classification and compensation study.
