Hours: Casual non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Varying shifts are available including Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Under general supervision, individuals assigned to this classification assist the organization to develop and design reports, websites, social media collateral and other marketing and presentation materials. This classification focuses on the development of written and graphic representation for division or department materials. Individuals in this classification are primarily focused on enhancing the Division’s social media presence, developing all written material, performing administrative tasks, attending fairs and events to promote Recreation Services programs; and perform/ related work as required.

This position is characterized by developing new and innovative marketing collateral with limited structure or routine work. Work assignments are performed in collaboration with various divisions and levels of staff, independently, with responsibility for following through on development. Contacts are regularly made both internally and externally at all levels of the organization involving tact, discretion, good listening and customer service skills. The position requires creative ability, knowledge of how to generate graphics using The Adobe Suite, Canva, Microsoft Publisher, Word and Excel and the ability to exercise a reasonable degree of independent judgment. This classification assists with development and implementation of standards for consistency in materials, written and posted on the internet. Additionally, the position requires good written communication skills, public relations, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills and abilities. The Marketing Associate receives direction from program supervisors and management staff.

Essential Job Functions

(May include, but are not limited to, the following):

• Design and produce effective collateral for digital and print to promote programs, events and services
• Design and produce graphics materials using computer-based and traditional methods to meet organizational standards and deadlines
• Produce highly creative work within an established organizational style
• Edit electronic newsletter articles and blurbs, program descriptions for activity guide/fliers/online descriptions and social media posts
• Follow all City standards related to branding and writing (Associated Press style), or as otherwise directed, and meet deadlines
• Develop written content and edit for brochures, reports, logos and other marketing and presentation materials
• Consult with City staff and provide technical coaching and training to colleagues
• Participate in the planning, development and production of written and graphics materials
• Assist staff in the development of presentations using PowerPoint and other presentation software
• Create, develop and monitor posts and comments for social media accounts
• Represent the division at community outreach events (such as fairs, special events, etc.) by promoting community services programs and services

WORKING CONDITIONS
Position is required to work on the Community Center campus and may not work from home. Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination when using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision when reading and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service. The need to lift, push and pull files, paper and documents weighing up to 25 pounds also is required. Some of these requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodations.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:
The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, graphic arts or a closely related field; AND
• One year of related work experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Knowledge of:

• Computer programs utilized in the production of marketing collateral; specifically, the Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Publisher, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Dynamics of development of social media sites
• Basic principles of graphic design

POSITION

The City Clerk plans, organizes, and directs all functions and responsibilities of the City Clerk's office as specified by the City Council and as required by law.  This is an exempt Management Position. The incumbent serves in an at-will capacity and sits at the pleasure of the City Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

The City Clerk performs the following duties which may include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinates and prepares agenda for City Council and designated commission meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Experience: 
Five (5) years of experience in performing high-level and complex administrative and analytical work, including two (2) years supervisory experience, preferable in a public agency.  Experience in a City Clerk's office is desirable.

Licenses and Certificates: 

Possession and maintenance of a valid California driver's license.  Must be able to obtain and maintain a Notary Commission within twelve (12) months of employment.  Ability to obtain certification as a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) within three (3) years, if not already obtained.  Possession of Certified Municipal Clerk designation upon hire is highly desirable.

Bilingual: 
Knowledge of a second language is beneficial.

PAL (Police Activities League) Program Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is seeking a highly-qualified Social Worker III - Discharge Planner/Case Manager to provide highly skilled, intensive discharge planning and case management to individuals and their families, and provide casework consultation within SMMC and to outside agencies.

The Social Worker III - Discharge Planner/Case Manager position will support SMMC to provide services related to discharge planning/case management on various units of the hospital, including the Medical/Surgical unit, Intensive Care Unit, Acute Psychiatry unit, Short Term Rehabilitation unit, Emergency Room, and Psychiatric Emergency Services. This includes needs assessment, assistance in financial resource management, crisis management, service delivery planning and follow up, and referrals to public, community-based services and programs. The candidate should be familiar with the rules and regulations governing skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working in an acute care hospital setting performing discharge planning, including appropriate documentation in accordance with all Medicare and Medi-Cal regulations, and should be experienced working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and LEAN principles.

• Assist patients with applications and securing of private and public benefits.

• Be a member of the Palliative Care Team.
• Work in the emergency room or any other areas in the hospital that social workers cover.

Qualifications

Education:

• Satisfactory completion of 36 semester units of Social Welfare and/or appropriate behavioral science courses.

Experience:

• Three years' experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker II or higher in San Mateo County.

Substitution: Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work and two years' experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker II or higher in San Mateo County.

Licensure/Certification :

• California class C driver license or equivalent.

Job Description

Under direct supervision, the Development Strategy & Finance Sr. Analyst works within the Port’s Real Estate and Development Division leading analytical work related to the Port’s Public-Private Partnership Development Projects. Key tasks will include preparing complex financial analyses and reports, analyzing development pro formas and appraisals, coordinating the issuance and disbursement of bonds and associated record keeping documentation, supporting with development negotiations, and managing division-wide contracts, billings, and budgets.

The Sr. Analyst will support Project Managers with all aspects of Port Development projects. The role will receive support in learning and performing all tasks with the goal of independently managing specific areas over time. The Development team and this position are collaborative in nature, and the Sr. Analyst will work with both internal and external stakeholders including all Port Divisions, specifically Port Finance and the Port’s Resilience team, the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, the Office of Public Finance, and private development partners.

• Supports Port Development, Finance, and Office of Public Finance teams with tax district formation and bond issuances.
• Tracks ongoing Project finances to ensure projects stay on budget, public sources are sufficient for funding, and Port meets revenue expectations.
• Identifies cost-saving measures for development projects and support the implementation of these actions with other City departments
• Supports Project Managers on development negotiations (term sheets, leases, community benefits) by conducting research tasks and financial projections
• Assists in the drafting of relevant development deal documents (term sheet, leases, Development Agreements)
• Assists in preparation of memos, staff reports, and presentations for Port executives, Port Commission, and Board of Supervisors.
• Coordinates billing and payments for developer reimbursables and Development-related invoices with Development Finance Manager.
• Manages Development team’s as-needed economic consultant contracts.

Qualifications

Education

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; AND

Experience

Three (3) years full-time equivalent experience performing professional-level analytical work. Qualifying professional-level analytical work includes analysis, development, administration, and reporting in major programs and functions of an organization in the areas of budgets, contracts, grants, policy, or other functional areas related to the duties of positions in the 1823 Class series; AND

License and Certification

Possession of a valid California driver’s license (to be presented at time of appointment).  Employees must be insurable under the Port’s automobile liability insurance.  Insurability must be maintained throughout employment.

Substitution

Education Substitution: Additional qualifying work experience as described above may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of 2 years (1 year of work experience is equal to 30 semester units or 45 quarter units).

Experience Substitution: Possession of a graduate degree (Master's degree or higher) from an accredited college or university with major coursework in specialized subject matter areas such as public or business administration, management, business law, contract law, public policy, urban studies, economics, statistical analysis, finance, accounting or other fields of study closely related to the essential functions of positions in the Class series may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience.

Village Park Preschool Program

Village Park Preschool is a play-based preschool program offered by the City of Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department. We offer 5 programs: Lil’ Sprouts (2 year olds), Cottage Kids (3 year olds), Playschool Villagers (3 year olds), Afternoon Owls (3 year olds), and Camp Treehouse (3-4 year olds).  The emphasis of the program is physical, social, and emotional growth in a child-centered environment. Activities are designed to foster a healthy child that develops an early love of learning. Village Park Preschool programs strive to create an environment inspiring each child’s individual creativity and self-expression. Children participate in arts/crafts, music, body movement, basic science, cognitive games, creative/dramatic play, cooking, circle and story time, fine and gross motor skill building, and phonics awareness.

Definition: Preschool Site Coordinator

The City of Burlingame is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, creative, and responsible Preschool Site Coordinator. Under direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Village Park Preschool ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role involves managing staff, coordinating programs, communicating with parents, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties

• Program Oversite
  • Coordinate with teachers and staff to ensure lesson plans, schedules, and classroom activities align with educational standards and goals.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as needed to meet the needs of children and families.
  • Manage supply lists and shop for required materials.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Lead a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time.
  • Develop and plan activities for preschool summer camp
  • Change diapers and support toilet training.

• Staff Management 
  • Train and supervise teaching staff.
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities to staff to enhance their skills and performance.

• Parent Communication 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a responsive and professional manner.
  • Facilitate open communication and collaboration between parents, teachers, and staff to promote a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Send emails to parents with child and class updates.

• Administrative Duties 
  • Prepare monthly newsletter.
  • Manage Village Park Preschool Instagram.
  • Complete assigned paperwork, including timecards and incident reports.

• Safety and Compliance 
  • ​​​​​​​Enforce policies and procedures related to child supervision, hygiene, emergency preparedness, and security measures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and materials to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.

$27.69-$34.30 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
