About the Position:  The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) Seasonal Ranger Aide is an entry-level position, which provides the opportunity to learn and perform some duties of a ranger under the guidance of experienced ranger staff. Ranger Aides provide visitor information and assistance, travelling by non-emergency Midpen vehicles and on foot throughout an assigned geographical region. Ranger Aides perform a variety of customer service duties such as educating and informing the public about Midpen land use regulations, public relations and provide general information services, but do not have law enforcement authority.  Ranger Aides will assist with routine maintenance work on Midpen land and facilities and may respond to assist with emergency calls. The start dates will be in or around late June/July 2024 and the selected individuals will continue working through February 2025.  See Job Description for additional information.

Requirements: Must have the ability to  learn Midpen lands, pertinent laws and regulations and contact, educate and inform the public about the lands and regulations ; administer first aid and CPR; operate and maintain various power tools and equipment; operate two-way radios; communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; and other duties as assigned.

Certificates Needed: A valid California driver license is required upon appointment; valid professional rescuer CPR certificate and basic First Aid certificate (Midpen will offer training to candidates who do not possess CPR/First Aid certificates upon appointment).

Education & Experience: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to graduation from high school. Six months experience working in a customer service related field.  Some experience or training in a parks settings is desirable.

Schedules:  This is a full-time position. Employees are expected to work full-time (40 hours during the work week); however, school schedules may be accommodated.  Weekend work (Sat/Sun) is required, with two consistent days off each week (either Mondays/Tuesdays off OR Thursdays/Fridays off).  Incumbents will work an 8-hour workday (plus a 30-minute unpaid meal break). Daily start and end times will be the same for most workdays, typically scheduled within the range of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Must be willing to work weekends, nights, holidays, or extended shifts and work with exposure to difficult circumstances, including exposure to challenging situations and upset individuals. Seasonal assignments will not exceed 950 hours or 7 months, whichever comes first, and do not include benefits

Working Conditions: Most work is outdoors within Midpen’s open space lands with exposure to inclement weather conditions. This requires the ability to patrol on foot, off trail, and in rugged terrain.  Also requires the ability to perform related emergency services and maintenance and construction work on Midpen lands. Once trained, Ranger Aides may work alone for parts or all of their shifts. Must wear prescribed District uniform and adhere to strict safety procedures and work habits.

POSITION

The City Clerk plans, organizes, and directs all functions and responsibilities of the City Clerk's office as specified by the City Council and as required by law.  This is an exempt Management Position. The incumbent serves in an at-will capacity and sits at the pleasure of the City Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

The City Clerk performs the following duties which may include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinates and prepares agenda for City Council and designated commission meetings.
• Reviews agenda items for compliance with legal requirements.
• Organizes completed staff reports.
• Reproduces and distributes agenda packages to appropriate individuals and organizations.
• Ensures the City Council Chamber is in proper order for all meetings.
• Attends City Council and designated commission meetings, acts as recording secretary and prepares minutes.
• Prepares "action" letters and appointments for follow-up activity resulting from City Council meetings.
• Establishes and maintains a reminder or follow-up system to ensure continued items are placed on the appropriate City Council agenda.
• Maintains a comprehensive general index of the official meeting minutes and files of all city records, including City Council actions for follow-up and/or filing, maintenance and storage.
• Administers oaths or affirmations.
• Takes and certifies affidavits and dispositions pertaining to city affairs.

• Maintains the Municipal Code and establishes supplemental procedures in order to update and republish the Code as required.

• Oversees campaign and Fair Political Practices Commission related filings according to established procedures and State law for elected officials and designated employees.
• Certifies action taken by the City Council regarding conveying or receiving property.

• Manages the citywide records management program.
• Serves as custodian of the official City Seal and archives.
• Maintains custody of official records including ordinances, resolutions, contracts, agreements, deeds, minutes, and certifies copies as required.
• Attests, publishes, indexes and files ordinances and resolutions.
• Oversees the publication of legal notices, postings and mailings.
• Coordinates the appointments to city boards and commissions.
• Trains, evaluates, supervises and disciplines staff assigned to the City Clerk function.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:  

Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge and skill.  A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skill would be: 

Education: 
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.

Experience: 
Five (5) years of experience in performing high-level and complex administrative and analytical work, including two (2) years supervisory experience, preferable in a public agency.  Experience in a City Clerk's office is desirable.

Licenses and Certificates: 

Possession and maintenance of a valid California driver's license.  Must be able to obtain and maintain a Notary Commission within twelve (12) months of employment.  Ability to obtain certification as a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) within three (3) years, if not already obtained.  Possession of Certified Municipal Clerk designation upon hire is highly desirable.

Bilingual: 
Knowledge of a second language is beneficial.

THE POSITION

The City is currently seeking General Maintenance Workers. This temporary position works with the City’s maintenance staff to perform: unskilled labor in the parks and landscape medians, street and sidewalk maintenance, street sign maintenance, and building maintenance. Duties include, but are not limited to: raking, emptying trash cans and litter removal, irrigation repair, weeding, edging, street sign maintenance and graffiti removal. Work is closely supervised; work methods are explained in specific terms and work is subject to frequent review. 

Incumbents must possess the physical and mental capacity to work under the conditions described in this document and to perform the duties required by their assigned position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in landscaping, street and sidewalk maintenance, and building maintenance, as well as safety practices and precautions to be used in work.
• Skill in operating hand and power tool equipment such as rakes, pick and shovel, etc.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and to follow oral and written instructions. Intermittently, sit while studying or listening to training; bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist when performing maintenance, repair, or installation tasks; perform simple and power grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation; and lift or carry heavy weights up to 90 lbs.; work in conditions of various outdoor exposure.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Driving a city truck is required for the position and the applicant must have an acceptable driving record, subject to California DMV pull records.

San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is seeking a highly-qualified Social Worker III - Discharge Planner/Case Manager to provide highly skilled, intensive discharge planning and case management to individuals and their families, and provide casework consultation within SMMC and to outside agencies.

The Social Worker III - Discharge Planner/Case Manager position will support SMMC to provide services related to discharge planning/case management on various units of the hospital, including the Medical/Surgical unit, Intensive Care Unit, Acute Psychiatry unit, Short Term Rehabilitation unit, Emergency Room, and Psychiatric Emergency Services. This includes needs assessment, assistance in financial resource management, crisis management, service delivery planning and follow up, and referrals to public, community-based services and programs. The candidate should be familiar with the rules and regulations governing skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working in an acute care hospital setting performing discharge planning, including appropriate documentation in accordance with all Medicare and Medi-Cal regulations, and should be experienced working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and LEAN principles.

The current vacancy is an on-site, Full-Time, Regular position. In addition to the regular vacancy, we also have an Extra-Help vacancy on site. Experience with psychiatric discharge planning is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will be:

• An experienced social worker with the ability to plan and execute complex treatment plans in a community- or acute care hospital-based setting.
• Experienced with Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS), as well as other mental health community programs.
• Knowledgeable of the systems of care related to older adults, mental health, substance abuse, developmental delay, pediatrics, primary care, palliative care, chronic illnesses, dialysis, conservatorship, and probation and parole.
• Able to work independently with little supervision and demonstrates a high degree of initiative.
• Knowledgeable of housing resources, their requirements for eligibility, and other community services such as In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP), Institute on Aging (IOA), Health Plan of San Mateo (HPSM), BHRS, and Bridges to Wellness, and more.
• Knowledgeable about County benefit and entitlement programs, such as Medi-Cal and ACE.
• Experienced and comfortable working with the following populations: multi-cultural, homeless, chronic diseases, end-of-life, mental health, domestic violence, parolees, and substance abuse disorders.
• Experienced working with a diverse population (race, ethnicity, age, ability, language, nationality, socioeconomic status, gender, religion, and sexual orientation).
• Able to accurately assess for signs of adult and child abuse and be a mandated reporter.
• Able to work in a politically charged environment under high degrees of stress and meet all deadlines.
• Able to develop effective and positive working relationships with community partners such as Aging and Adult Services, BHRS, and HPSM.
• An effective communicator to a broad range of stakeholders, including doctors, nurses, conservators, health advocates, families, and patients.
• Able to remain calm during crisis situations and perform emergency crisis counseling for families and patients as needed.
• Experienced documenting in an EMR.
• Able to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Spanish-speaking preferred.

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide information and assistance to patients of SMMC.
• Conduct initial screenings for patients and develop appropriate discharge/service plans to address identified issues.
• Provide skilled casework services to patients and their families.
• Schedule and conduct family care conference meetings with patients, families, and treatment team for short-term and long-term placement needs.
• Coordinate referrals, both internal and external, as part of the social service plan.
• Follow up on referrals and document outcomes as well as completion of items.
• Provide crisis intervention to patients and their families.
• Assist patients in meeting a variety of emergency needs, including financial, housing, and emotional crises.
• Assist patients with applications and securing of private and public benefits.
• Gather and maintain current information on community resources and disseminate this information to patients and staff.
• Maintain case files utilizing the electronic medical record.
• Work with the hospital's multidisciplinary team of staff to identify and address barriers to care, participate in quality assurance efforts such as outcome analysis, chart reviews, and patient and staff satisfaction efforts, and assist with maintenance of Center policies.
• Document interactions with patients/clients in EMR.
• Be a member of the Palliative Care Team.
• Work in the emergency room or any other areas in the hospital that social workers cover.

Qualifications

Education:

• Satisfactory completion of 36 semester units of Social Welfare and/or appropriate behavioral science courses.

Experience:

• Three years' experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker II or higher in San Mateo County.

Substitution: Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work and two years' experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker II or higher in San Mateo County.

Licensure/Certification :

• California class C driver license or equivalent.

Job Description

Under direct supervision, the Development Strategy & Finance Sr. Analyst works within the Port’s Real Estate and Development Division leading analytical work related to the Port’s Public-Private Partnership Development Projects. Key tasks will include preparing complex financial analyses and reports, analyzing development pro formas and appraisals, coordinating the issuance and disbursement of bonds and associated record keeping documentation, supporting with development negotiations, and managing division-wide contracts, billings, and budgets.

The Sr. Analyst will support Project Managers with all aspects of Port Development projects. The role will receive support in learning and performing all tasks with the goal of independently managing specific areas over time. The Development team and this position are collaborative in nature, and the Sr. Analyst will work with both internal and external stakeholders including all Port Divisions, specifically Port Finance and the Port’s Resilience team, the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, the Office of Public Finance, and private development partners.

The essential functions of this position include:

• Analyzes Port-wide development opportunities to prioritize projects and determine value to support Port-wide Sea Level Rise resilience projects.
• Reviews project pro formas, appraisals, and other financial analyses to determine fiscal feasibility and economic value to the Port.
• Supports Port Development, Finance, and Office of Public Finance teams with tax district formation and bond issuances.
• Tracks ongoing Project finances to ensure projects stay on budget, public sources are sufficient for funding, and Port meets revenue expectations.
• Identifies cost-saving measures for development projects and support the implementation of these actions with other City departments
• Supports Project Managers on development negotiations (term sheets, leases, community benefits) by conducting research tasks and financial projections
• Assists in the drafting of relevant development deal documents (term sheet, leases, Development Agreements)
• Assists in preparation of memos, staff reports, and presentations for Port executives, Port Commission, and Board of Supervisors.
• Coordinates billing and payments for developer reimbursables and Development-related invoices with Development Finance Manager.
• Manages Development team’s as-needed economic consultant contracts.

Qualifications

Education

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; AND

Experience

Three (3) years full-time equivalent experience performing professional-level analytical work. Qualifying professional-level analytical work includes analysis, development, administration, and reporting in major programs and functions of an organization in the areas of budgets, contracts, grants, policy, or other functional areas related to the duties of positions in the 1823 Class series; AND

License and Certification

Possession of a valid California driver’s license (to be presented at time of appointment).  Employees must be insurable under the Port’s automobile liability insurance.  Insurability must be maintained throughout employment.

Substitution

Education Substitution: Additional qualifying work experience as described above may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of 2 years (1 year of work experience is equal to 30 semester units or 45 quarter units).

Experience Substitution: Possession of a graduate degree (Master's degree or higher) from an accredited college or university with major coursework in specialized subject matter areas such as public or business administration, management, business law, contract law, public policy, urban studies, economics, statistical analysis, finance, accounting or other fields of study closely related to the essential functions of positions in the Class series may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience.

Important Note(s):

• One-year full-time employment is considered equivalent to 2000 hours (2000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week). Any overtime hours that you work above forty (40) hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.

The Analyst I salary range is $85,525.44 - $103,958.40
The Analyst II salary range is $93,344.16 - $113,436.96

San José Mineta International Airport is hiring for an Analyst I/II in its Planning and Development Division. This position reports directly to the Senior Analyst and is a crucial member of the Airport's Planning and Development Division. The Analyst is part of the fiscal team in the Planning and Development Division of the Airport. The Analyst's primary role is to support the development, monitoring, reporting and administration of the Division's annual operating budget and capital budget. The Analyst also serves as a liaison for coordination of the budget and financial information between multiple stakeholders including the Airport's Finance Division and the City's Budget Office. The Analyst will be responsible for tracking and enforcing timely delivery of budget status reporting within the Division., The Analyst will manage the day to day capital budget processes, including but not limited to assisting program and project managers with fiscal and budgeting aspects and monitoring and reporting expenditures.

The Analyst's primary role is to support the fiscal and administrative functions of the division such as processing invoice payments, encumbrances, requisitions, accruals, procurement renewals, monitoring, and tacking service orders. This position also coordinates with internal staff to assist with special requests, processes, and analysis.

Glenn County is recruiting individuals to fill three full time and multiple Part Time/ Extra Help positions in the Public Works Agency. The Public Works Maintenance Worker I/II/III position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled labor in the construction, maintenance and repair of County roads, bridges, and other related structures, and in various traffic control maintenance and  repair activities of the Public Works Agency; operates a variety of construction, maintenance and transportation equipment as necessary to complete daily tasks at the Glenn County Public Works Agency. The Office of the City Clerk is a service department within the municipal government upon which the City Council, all City departments, and the general public rely for information regarding the operations and legislative history of the City. The City Clerk serves as the liaison between the public and City Council and provides related municipal services, including delivering fiscal, human resources, and administrative and technical support services to the Mayor's Office, City Council Offices, and for the City's Boards, Commissions and Committees.The Office of the City Clerk is recruiting for a full-time Legislative Secretary to become part of a dynamic and productive team. The Legislative Secretary reports to the City Clerk and conducts activities unique to the Office of the City Clerk, in support of the Legislative process of the City Council, assigned Council Committees, and Boards or Commissions. Successful applicants must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. They must possess exemplary customer service and communication skills to interact effectively and respond to inquiries from the general public, elected officials, and City staff throughout the organization. A successful applicant must work well under pressure, meeting frequent deadlines. Occasional evening work may be required. The Legislative Secretary coordinates preparation of City Council agenda packets, meeting minutes, and calendars; publishes legal notices, hearings, ordinances, etc.; follows-up on Council actions to ensure timely preparation; compiles original documents, transmittal letters, affidavits and exhibits from City Council Meeting agenda items; prepares meeting minutes; processes actions resulting from meetings.

KeyResponsibilities
In order to fulfill these job duties, a Legislative Secretary should have good knowledge of English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation and be experienced with standard office practices and procedures with the skills necessary to organize, coordinate, and prioritize assigned tasks in order to meet established daily deadlines. The position requires the ability to type 55 words per minute with proficiency using MS Word, or equivalent, with the ability to follow strict formatting requirements for the preparation of meeting agenda, synopsis, and/or minutes for each Council, Committee, Board or Commission meeting. The employee may be expected to learn various software systems including Granicus and become proficient at posting or editing documents for publication on the web and to the GILES Records Database.

Agenda : The Legislative Secretary is responsible for preparing a variety of documents (Agendas for City Council, Council Committee, Boards or Commissions) utilizing wording and layout based upon standard formats to ensure consistency and compliance with the City's legislative procedures; posting documents in accordance with State Brown Act and City Open Government requirements. The Legislative Secretary may be responsible for the assembly and distribution of those documents to elected officials, City Administration, media and the public under tight deadlines.

Minutes : Responsibilities include attending City Council, Council Committee, Board or Commission meetings and taking complete notes of actions taken while utilizing Granicus software and/or other audio recording equipment to provide for storage and playback. Subsequently, the Legislative Secretary is responsible for preparing a synopsis and/or minutes of the meeting which accurately reflect the course of the proceedings and actions taken by the body for the approval by the City Clerk for publication and distribution within prescribed deadlines. The Legislative Secretary must selectively condense and paraphrase the discussions while exercising care to include relevant materials and to accurately record the vote(s) taken. The development of complete synopsis and/or minutes requires the Legislative Secretary to review all documents on which the Council, Council Committee, Board or Commission has taken action to ensure that the documentation is complete and accurate.

Records Management : The Office of the City Clerk is responsible for maintaining records and documents and other public disclosures required under State and local laws to be filed by elected officials, candidates for public office, lobbyists, campaigns, Board and Commission members, designated employees, and other governmental agencies. The Legislative Secretary is responsible for reading, indexing, filing, researching and retrieving documents considered and acted upon by the City Council, Council Committee, Board or Commission, as well as other documents required to be filed with the City Clerk including contracts, agreements, maps, disclosure forms, etc. The Office must respond to requests under the California Public Records Act for information from members of the public and media and/or research information, as well as records and documents requested by various City departments and other public agencies.
