THE POSITION:
Under direct supervision, the Police Officer Trainee attends a Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) approved Police Basic Recruit Academy and successfully completes the academic and physical training required for appointment to the classification of Police Officer Recruit II.

This person serves as the Department's highest level technical expert on hazardous materials, fire prevention and related regulations. Serving as the second in command reporting directly to the Fire Chief, the Deputy Chief will provide the management of day-today operations of the District and serve as the Fire Chief in his/her absence.
