We are seeking a Senior Information Systems Analyst to join Valley Water’s Information Technologies team. The Sr. Information Systems Analyst is responsible for advanced networking and server virtualization in both our Corporate and Scada (Industrial) networks. They are expected to have advanced analytical/problem solving skills, perform highly complex configurations, extensive experience in advanced networking/server deployments, IT SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), Cybersecurity experience, SaaS deployments, and PaaS deployments. They should also have extensive experience with maintain highly complex environments in a variety of infrastructures.
 
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Test, implement, and maintain highly complex configurations/gear for core network switches, routers, firewalls, PaaS, and monitoring devices.
• Test, implement, and maintain highly complex configurations/gear for virtualized, physical servers, and SaaS environments.
• Perform Monitoring of advanced Networking and Server based devices, evaluate IT/OT SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), cybersecurity concerns, perform critical vulnerability patching, maintaining our systems to avoid impacting operational uptime, and perform security upgrades.
• Perform research into new highly complex technologies to increase the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness including POCs of these technologies.
• Act as project manager and technical lead for in the design, development, and maintenance of the most complex Valley Water applications.
• Confer with end user and define application requirements; recommend and develop solutions; conduct cost/benefit analyses; prepare justification for new or enhanced modifications; ensure that recommendations comply with Valley Water standards and conventions; Research and evaluate systems for technical fit and fit for purpose and fit for use for the business.
• Develop written technical documentation, internal operating procedures, and user manuals and instructions; develop instructional materials and conduct training programs on new or enhanced applications; update technical and training manuals as required.
• Serve as a technical resource lead for maintaining, enhancing, and upgrading the department’s current and long-term computer system operations.

Ideal Experience:

Hours: Casual non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Varying shifts are available including Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Position is required to work on the Community Center campus and may not work from home. Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination when using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision when reading and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service. The need to lift, push and pull files, paper and documents weighing up to 25 pounds also is required. PAL (Police Activities League) Program Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: PAL Program Attendants work with Suisun City’s PAL Program and with area teenagers ages 13-19 to implement educational and recreational activities: tutoring, sports, games, mini-excursions, competitions, contests, seminars, and special events, and provide general support to the program’s Recreation Supervisor. THE POSITION

The City is currently seeking General Maintenance Workers. This temporary position works with the City’s maintenance staff to perform: unskilled labor in the parks and landscape medians, street and sidewalk maintenance, street sign maintenance, and building maintenance. Duties include, but are not limited to: raking, emptying trash cans and litter removal, irrigation repair, weeding, edging, street sign maintenance and graffiti removal. This position is responsible for the management and support of the City's enterprise Finance Management System, Revenue Management/Collection System, and Finance Reporting System. This position combines managerial and leadership responsibilities along with hands-on technical expertise to deliver day-to-day system operations. Key job duties are service level management, including service level agreements (SLAs) and Incident Management, as well as delivery of smaller projects and system enhancements. The Finance Applications Associate IT Manager is also responsible for resource and performance management of the Finance Applications IT Team.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Street Maintenance Operator I: This is the entry level class in the Street Maintenance Operator series. This class is distinguished from the Street Maintenance Operator II by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to workers in this series. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters related to established procedures and guidelines as are positions allocated to the II level. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or non directly related work experience. Employees work under immediate supervision while learning job tasks.

Street Maintenance Operator II: This is the full journey level class within the Street Maintenance Operator series. This class is distinguished from the Street Maintenance Operator I by the assignment of the full range of duties assigned. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

1. Handle complaints and answer questions from the public.

2. Perform general electrical, painting, plumbing and carpentry work as needed.

3. Make minor adjustments on service equipment; maintain tools and equipment in working order.

4. Oversee the work of community service workers.

5. Maintain logs of daily activities.

6. Assist in other areas as needed.

7. Perform related duties as required.

8. Repair and replace street surfaces, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters including back filling trenches and evacuations.

9. Perform the maintenance, repair, construction, and installation work of streets, storm drain, parking lots, street lights, traffic striping, and traffic control signs and signals.

10. Remove hazards from the roadway and other public rights of way.

11. Operate a variety of motorized equipment and specialized maintenance equipment.

12. Perform repaving, patching, overlaying, chuck hole, and crack sealing repair of asphalt.

13. Perform underground service alert locating, marking and notification.

14. Lay out and install traffic signs and pavement markings.

15. Repair and maintain storm drain lift stations.

16. Conduct traffic count surveys.

17. Maintain storm detention ponds, including cleaning, repairing, and spraying weeds.

18. Respond to hazardous materials spills.

Village Park Preschool Program

Village Park Preschool is a play-based preschool program offered by the City of Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department. We offer 4 programs: Lil’ Sprouts (2 year olds), Cottage Kids (3 year olds), Playschool Villagers (4 year olds), and Kinder Club (4 year olds).  The emphasis of the program is physical, social, and emotional growth in a child-centered environment. Activities are designed to foster a healthy child that develops an early love of learning. Village Park Preschool programs strive to create an environment inspiring each child’s individual creativity and self-expression. Children participate in arts/crafts, music, body movement, basic science, cognitive games, creative/dramatic play, cooking, circle and story time, fine and gross motor skill building, and phonics awareness.

Definition: Preschool Teacher

The City of Burlingame is looking for an energetic, caring, creative, and responsible Preschool Teacher. Under direction of a Recreation Coordinator, the Preschool Teacher plans, schedules, and organizes preschool classes for the City’s Village Park Preschool program, assures policies and procedures are maintained, and performs related work as required.

Essential Duties

• Plan, organize, and implement activities that support early childhood education and socialization;
• Lead a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time;
• Ensure proper safety precautions are observed;
• Maintain and care for supplies, equipment, and the facility;
• Report any supply requests and facility maintenance needs;
• Set up daily snack, change diapers and support toilet training;
• Help with preparation of monthly newsletter;
• Complete assigned paperwork, including time cards and incident and accident reports;
• Communicate regularly with parents and staff to disseminate information and build positive relationships;
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Must be a mature, dependable, responsible, and understanding person who is able to work cooperatively with children, staff and parents.   

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

• Knowledge of early childhood education principles, curriculum development, and best practices.
• Completion of 24 units of Early Childhood Education.
• Teaching certification or license for early childhood education (preferred).

Monday/Wednesday- 9am-11:15pm (2 year olds)

Tuesday/Thursday- 9:15am-11:30am (2 year olds)

Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday- 9am-12pm (3 year olds)

Monday/Wednesday/Friday- 8:45am-12:15pm (3 year olds)

Tuesday/Thursday- 12:30pm-3:30pm (3 year olds)

Summer Camp (June-August)

Monday- Friday- 9am-12pm (3-4 year olds)

Work Schedule:                    

8-20 Hours a week

Maximum of 960 hours per fiscal year                                                 

Note: These positions are part-time and do NOT have a benefits package. 

Salary:                   

$25.48-$31.57 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
