The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Human Resources Manager in the Human Resources & Organizational Services Department. Under general direction, manage, supervise, plan and organize the day-to-day activities of any human resources related assignment; assists the Human Resources Director in providing County-wide comprehensive benefits, risk management and insurance programs, workers’ compensation and safety programs, organizational and employee development, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, payroll and HR technologies, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and/or employee relations; labor relations; establish, develop and implement a broad range of policies, practices and procedures for area of assignment; and performs related work as assigned.

Position Overview:

The current HR Manager vacancy will oversee payroll, our HR applications including our HRIS, as well as many aspects of MOU compliance. You will play a crucial role in driving the success of our organization. You'll be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll administration, optimizing our HRIS systems for efficiency and accuracy, and designing and implementing other applications and comprehensive programs that meet the diverse needs of our employees.

Human Resources and Organizational Services (HROS) partners with County departments on a full range of Human Resources and Risk Management Services including assistance in recruitment, selection, retention, leave management, ergonomics, classification and compensation analysis, consultation on organizational structure, organizational development, contract negotiations, employee relations, personnel records management, employee benefits, safety, workers’ compensation, risk management, and loss prevention.

Details:

• Part-time regular position, must be willing to work varied hours including operational holidays, Saturdays, early morning hours (from 4:30 a.m.), and/or evenings (until 8:30 p.m.).

• Salary range $20.28 to $25.89 hourly with Excellent Benefits (see below)

This position will receive a four percent (4%) cost of living increase effective April 2024.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Public Health Nurse Intern/Public Health Nurse in the Health and Human Services Department. This position provides the full range of public health nursing services including teaching, health assessment, and counseling services in homes, clinics, schools and community centers in connection with the prevention and control of diseases and adverse health conditions. Public Health Nurses are assigned to specific programs such as Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health, California Children’s Services, Child Health and Disability Prevention, Foster Care and communicable disease control. Public Health Nurse Intern: is a recruiting and training level class established to qualify candidates for duties as a PHN in Yuba County Health & Human Services Department. Under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of public health nursing duties in assigned program areas while pursuing a Public Health Nurse Certification. Upon satisfactory completion of the PHN Certification, the PHN Intern are eligible for promotion to the level of PHN. Incumbents who do not successfully complete the PHN certification as prescribed herein may be released from employment.

Public Health Nurse: is the entry level in this class series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of public health nursing duties in assigned program areas. As experience is gained, assignments become more complex and are performed under more general supervision.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting to establish an employment list for the classification of Social Worker II. Under general supervision, incumbents perform moderately complex social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; conducting field visits; identifying, assessing and arranging alternative solutions to clients’ needs and obstacles; carry a moderately complex caseload; prepare and monitor plans; prepare court reports, depending on area of assignment; and perform related work as assigned. The work may be related to a specific program area or to more general social service benefit provision. Social Worker II is the journey-level in the social work series. This position reports directly to a Social Worker Supervisor II or other higher-level supervisor or manager.

Example of Duties:

• Interview and counsel a diverse population of clients; isolate barriers to self-sufficiency; and evaluate need for services and/or make appropriate referrals to training, public assistance and social services programs.
• Perform case management of moderately complex cases.
• Conduct field/home visits, assessments, and reassessments as required to monitor and investigate progress and compliance
• Prepare and review court pleadings, depending on area of assignment.

Minimum Qualifications for consideration: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade

Experience: One year of experience in the operation of a transit vehicle.

License or Certificate: Possession of an appropriate, valid commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement. Possession of a valid Medical Examination Certification. Possession of, or ability to obtain within the initial training period, a Verification of Transit Training certificate.
