The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to either County Jail security or Court security. 

About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

About The Position:

The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to establish an eligibility list for the position of Deputy Sheriff-Lateral. Deputy Sheriff’s perform a wide variety of patrol officer and related duties required to effectively respond to and resolve the normal scope of peace situations, including the protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, criminal investigation, report writing, crime prevention and suppression, case preparation and testimony, and providing information and assistance to the public and perform related duties as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to a specific geographic area for patrol, investigations, crime prevention or other peace officer-related functions. 

This position performs legal work in the enforcement of laws; prosecutes criminal cases as assigned by the District Attorney; advises the general public and law enforcement officers on criminal matters; and does related work as required. • Reviews and prepares asset forfeiture cases.
• Researches and reviews laws as they impact cases pending.

Fremont Police Department is the law enforcement agency for the City of Fremont, California. As of 2024, the department consists of over 300 staff, of which more than 200 are sworn personnel, and more than 100 are professional staff.  Fremont Police Department was first established under the direction of Chief Richard E. ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is recruiting for a full-time Environmental Programs Manager in our Public Works Department. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (District) is a regional government agency. The District's statutory mandate is to regulate stationary sources of air emissions. The Air District's jurisdiction encompasses all of seven counties - Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Napa, and portions of two others - southwestern Solano and southern Sonoma.
 
The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Rules and Strategic Policy Director in the Rules and Strategic Policy Division. This is an open recruitment for one (1) full-time, exempt, management level position.
 
About the Position
The Director of Rules and Strategic Policy leads the development of new and modified regulations to be presented to the Board of Directors for consideration. Definition

Assists in the identification, development and implementation of agency goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills is:
 
Equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in engineering or a closely related field and five years of professional level work experience in developing or implementing air quality regulations, preferably in a public agency, including three years of supervisory experience.

Desirable Qualifications
Experience developing air quality regulations, especially for stationary sources.
 
Experience working in partnership with community advocates to address environmental injustice.

The Position

Superior Court of California, San Mateo County is seeking highly qualified individuals to fill one vacancy for a Court Commissioner. The appointment to this position shall be by the judges of the superior court and shall be under the general direction of the presiding judge.

Pursuant to California Rules of Court, candidates must have been admitted to practice law in California for at least 10 years or, on a finding of good cause by the presiding judge, for at least 5 years.

The commissioner’s duties include the subordinate judicial duties set forth in Code of Civil Procedure Section 259 which include but are not limited to conducting judicial hearings in a broad range of civil proceedings which may include family law, making findings of fact in traffic, small claims, and criminal proceedings and performing other subordinate judicial activities as may be conferred by law or by order of the court. The commissioner will be expected to perform duties in all of the following areas: criminal law, family law, traffic, small claims, and a broad range of civil proceedings.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Experience as a hearing officer, judge pro-tem, or mediator.
• Experience with trial and hearing procedures and with the rules of evidence.
• Knowledge of court calendars.
• Demonstrated ability to present statements of law, fact and argument clearly and logically in written and oral form.
• Ability to manage a courtroom in a fair, courteous and efficient manner so as to promote respect for the judicial process.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with judicial officers, attorneys, court staff and various governmental agencies.
• Experience working effectively with the public, especially in stressful situations.
• Ability to work efficiently and with flexibility.
• Experience working in and with the citizenry of San Mateo County.
• Experience with the following court calendars: criminal (including arraignments and pretrial calendars), family (including child support and domestic violence restraining orders), traffic, small claims, and civil (including unlawful detainers).
