THE POSITION:
Under the direction of the Pool Manager, the Assistant Pool Manager is responsible for assigned aquatic program areas, and acts as Pool Manager during the Pool Manager’s absence. This class is distinguished from the Lifeguard by overall program responsibilities, training and experience. Senior Lifeguards serve as the Lead Lifeguard in providing technical and functional direction over Lifeguards.
The Dixon Police Department is opening two positions for a Police Recruit to attend the Police Academy in July of 2024. The “Police Recruit” classification at the City of Dixon Police Department provides a unique opportunity for candidates to be sponsored through a P.O.S.T. certified basic academy during regular academy hours and any other scheduled departmental and academy exercise and activities. Upon successfully completing the academy, Police Recruits shall be advanced to Police Officers and immediately begin the field training program to prepare them to function as solo officers.

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor and Senior Lifeguard/Swim Instructor, Lifeguard/Swim Instructor performs a variety of duties to ensure the City of Dixon swimming pool is a safe and enjoyable aquatic facility. Supervises pool patrons, enforces pool rules, performs first aid and emergency rescues, instructs swim lessons, performs cashiering duties, leads recreational activities; performs related and other work as required.
