Positions in the Community Services Officer I/II classification series are funded by the City's General Fund, allocated to the Police Department Budget.

This is an on call, temporary, non-benefited position in our Urban Search and Rescue Warehouse in East Palo Alto working between 10-30 hours a week. This is an entry-level position. The incumbent will report to the Division Chief and work closely with the Logistics Specialist. This position will provide extra help around the warehouse including:
Will receive direct supervision from assigned higher level sworn Staff and must attend and successfully complete a Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certified Police Recruit Academy to train for general police work in areas such as law and Penal Code; criminal justice system procedures; law enforcement and crime prevention techniques, physical fitness and first aid; proper handling and firing of firearms; radio codes and dispatching procedures; public contact skills; interviewing and taking complaints; writing and editing police reports; geography; investigation techniques; ar
Under general supervision, a Reserve Police Officer performs a variety of law enforcement and modern crime prevention work; controls traffic flow; patrols an assigned area for the prevention of crime and enforcement of federal, state and local laws and regulations, and arrests violators as necessary; performs investigative work; and other related law enforcement work as required.
