THE POSITION
The City is currently seeking General Maintenance Workers. This temporary position works with the City’s maintenance staff to perform: unskilled labor in the parks and landscape medians, street and sidewalk maintenance, street sign maintenance, and building maintenance. Duties include, but are not limited to: raking, emptying trash cans and litter removal, irrigation repair, weeding, edging, street sign maintenance and graffiti removal. Work is closely supervised; work methods are explained in specific terms and work is subject to frequent review.

The incumbent will plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise assigned staff; develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate programs; ensure quality client-centered services in accordance with HHS policies and procedures; and perform related work as assigned. This is the supervisory level in the education series and reports directly to the HHS Program Manager.

Under supervision of the Ironworker Superintendent, performs structural maintenance, repair and construction for the Golden Gate Bridge and other District facilities as required. Following plans and specifications, lays-out and fabricates a wide range of items.

LARPD is seeking a summer intern to support the Summer Youth Volunteer Program. Applicants should have the equivalent of one year of college credits completed toward a degree. Candidates interested in learning about recreation, volunteer management, and community services will be given preference. Interested candidates should complete an application online. The intern will be responsible for key deliverables while learning about special districts and the Livermore community.
