The City of Belmont is seeking an experienced and innovative administrator to serve as the City’s Chief Building Official. Under general direction of the Community Development Director, the Chief Building Official serves as the administer of the City's Building Division and Permit Center; will enforce all laws and regulations including the Building, Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical Codes; perform plan review and field verification for all applicable codes; and perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Within discretionary authority performs a variety of routine and complex administrative, supervisory and technical, work in administering and enforcing building, housing, zoning and related codes.
This classification is FLSA exempt and works under the general supervision of the Community Development Director. Exercise supervision over building inspectors, plan reviewers, technicians, support staff, and other staff, as assigned. Provides direction, training and direct supervision to subordinate technical and administrative support staff.
