Glenn County is recruiting individuals to fill three full time and multiple Part Time/ Extra Help positions in the Public Works Agency. The Public Works Maintenance Worker I/II/III position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled labor in the construction, maintenance and repair of County roads, bridges, and other related structures, and in various traffic control maintenance and  repair activities of the Public Works Agency; operates a variety of construction, maintenance and transportation equipment as necessary to complete daily tasks at the Glenn County Public Works Agency. The Public Works Maintenance Worker III position is the journey-level class in the series, and is distinguished from the Public Works Maintenance Worker II by the primary responsibility to operate heavy diesel and gasoline-powered construction equipment in the maintenance of roadways, drainage systems. 
 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prepares roads for patch repairs, overlays, or chip seals; prepares mix for patching roads; repairs and reconstructs roads.
• Cleans roadsides and drainage systems; inspects and clears debris from drainage systems; conducts roadside burning as needed.
• Prunes trees and other vegetation as needed.
• Directs and controls traffic around work sites.
• Operates semi-trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, boom truck, front loader, rollers, snow plow, etc.; operates a compressor, sand blasters, jack hammer, chipper machine, welding equipment, cutting torch, compaction tools, weed eater, blower, and other hand and power tools.

Assistant Planner - This is the entry-level class within the professional Planner series. This class is distinguished from the journey level by the performance of more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within this series. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees have only limited or no directly related professional planning work experience. Employees work under general supervision while learning job tasks.


Incumbents may advance from the Assistant Planner to the Associate Planner level based on a recommendation by their supervisor and approval from the Director of Development Services or designee. Advancement may result after the incumbent gains sufficient knowledge and experience in professional Planning work, as well as City and departmental practices and procedures, to be able to consistently perform the work of the higher classification.

This class is distinguished from that of the Senior Planner, which is an advanced journey level class responsible for more complex and difficult planning projects and programs and exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.

 

 

Essential Duties

Research, analyze and interpret social, economic, population and land use data, trends and reports.

Prepare and present written reports on various planning matters such as elements of the general plan, neighborhood plans, demographic or housing analysis, code amendments, and miscellaneous land use studies.

Prepare and/or monitor preparation of environmental documents including environmental analyses of development impacts and related preparation of negative declarations and/or environmental impact reports; work with consultants in facilitating preparation of environmental impact reports and related findings and documentation.

Review building, site and architectural plans, use permits, zone changes, variances, development proposals, applications and other related documents for conformance to City standards and other applicable state and federal rules and regulations; serve as primary point of contact to developers and property owners in meeting these standards.

Prepare and update maps, graphs and other graphics for use in reports and public presentations.

Review and analyze development proposals and work with developers, the public and other agencies regarding various land use permits, general plan amendments, and zone changes.

Provide information to the public, developers, public officials and staff members about land use matters to clarify and assure conformance to city and state policies and regulations regarding zoning and other development controls, acceptable development proposals, compatibility with adopted plans and environmental impacts.

Make presentations to the Planning Commission, City Council, and other interested parties regarding land use applications, general plan amendments, zoning changes, code amendments, and special studies.

Analyze, interpret and apply regional, state, and federal regulations.

Coordinate ongoing planning related programs or projects involving multi-department and multi-jurisdictional cooperation; provide professional planning guidance in responding to questions or inquiries.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently recruiting for two full-time Animal Care Services Officer. The examination process will result in a ranked eligible register of candidates for hiring consideration by the department derived from any of the exam processes mentioned above.

CLIENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST I/II

The Information Technology Department (ITD) provides secure, reliable, and integrated technology solutions in alignment with the needs and goals throughout the City in a timely manner, while delivering excellence in customer service. Within the department, the Infrastructure Services Division manages the City's server and storage platform, network infrastructure, emergency and non-emergency radios, desktops and laptops, mobile phones and tablets, audio and visual equipment, operating system for all hardware, desktop applications and email in a manner that enables City Staff to support the City’s operations effectively and efficiently.

 

The City of Sunnyvale is currently recruiting for TWO Client Support Specialist I/II to further enhance our service delivery. Depending on the applicant qualifications, the position will be filled at the appropriate level/salary of either a Client Support Specialist I or Client Support Specialist II. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact either in person, online, or over the telephone for the department by working directly with end users to resolve technology related questions and issues.  In addition, this person will independently perform a variety of other support functions for the department, such as writing Knowledge Based Articles (KBA’s), tracking Asset Management and inventory, setting up hardware for City Council and Planning Commission meetings and provide secondary support for cell phone management.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Client Support Specialist I: 

Education and Experience: 

The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in one of the following ways: 

•  A Technology Certificate from an accredited college or trade school in information technology, computer and information research science, computer engineering, computer information systems, network architecture, network and computer systems administration, telecommunications administrations, electronic engineering technology, technology project management or related field AND one year of experience in computer systems support, desktop/user support, general information technology support, telecommunications support or networking support; 
  OR 
• An Associate’s degree or completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units at an accredited college or university in, systems administration, network systems administration, electronics technology, business information systems, computer science, information technology or related field;
  OR
•  A Bachelor’s degree or completion of 120 semester or 180 quarter units from an accredited college or university with concentration in computer science, computer engineering, electronics technology, information technology or related field; 
  OR
• CompTIA A+ certification AND one year of experience in computer systems support, desktop/user support, general information technology support, telecommunications support or networking support.

Client Support Specialist II: 

Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree or completion of 120 semester or 180 quarter units from an accredited college or university with concentration in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, informatics, web science, electronics technology, business information systems or related field AND ONE year of experience in computer systems support, desktop/user support, general information technology support, telecommunications support or networking support; 
  OR 
• CompTIA A+ certification AND TWO years of experience in computer systems support, desktop/user support, general information technology support, telecommunications support or networking support.
