The City of San José is recruiting for a Finance Applications Associate IT Manager (Enterprise Principal Technology Analyst) in the Information Technology Department. This position is responsible for the management and support of the City's enterprise Finance Management System, Revenue Management/Collection System, and Finance Reporting System. This position combines managerial and leadership responsibilities along with hands-on technical expertise to deliver day-to-day system operations. Key job duties are service level management, including service level agreements (SLAs) and Incident Management, as well as delivery of smaller projects and system enhancements. The Finance Applications Associate IT Manager is also responsible for resource and performance management of the Finance Applications IT Team.

This position requires leadership skills and the ability to take the initiative and lead others. We are seeking an individual who is willing to adapt to an ever-changing environment.

The ideal candidate should have experience supporting an enterprise-level Finance Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with solid business process knowledge and technical support experience for the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Account Receivable, Purchasing, Asset Management, Revenue Management, and Revenue Collection modules.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Providing technical leadership for the City's enterprise Finance Management System, Revenue Collection System and Reporting System.

• Leading and coordinating upgrade and enhancement projects for Finance's enterprise applications.

• Assessing user needs to provide support and proactive service, including analyzing opportunities to use existing tools and workflows.
• Leading the day-to-day activities of advisory engagements for various projects, including process design, package implementation lifecycle support, and project reviews.
• Managing delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance, and enhancement tickets escalated by the end users for the portfolio of applications.
• Developing relevant metrics, measuring and publishing the performance of the services provided for continuous improvement activities.
• Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction for services and products provided.
• Working closely with all other IT management personnel in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing specific information technology to support the business plans and IT strategies.
• Coaching, mentoring, and managing staff to implement, maintain, and support all related software, configurations, and workflows.
• Hands on experience with structured query language, Windows scripting, designing and developing reports using a variety of end user reporting tools, managing applications on Windows environments.

Salary Information: The final candidate's qualifications and experience shall determine the actual salary. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Enterprise Principal Technology Analyst (EPTA) classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Street Maintenance Operator I: This is the entry level class in the Street Maintenance Operator series. This class is distinguished from the Street Maintenance Operator II by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to workers in this series. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters related to established procedures and guidelines as are positions allocated to the II level. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or non directly related work experience. Employees work under immediate supervision while learning job tasks.

Street Maintenance Operator II: This is the full journey level class within the Street Maintenance Operator series. This class is distinguished from the Street Maintenance Operator I by the assignment of the full range of duties assigned. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the I level.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

1. Handle complaints and answer questions from the public.

Glenn County is recruiting individuals to fill three full time and multiple Part Time/ Extra Help positions in the Public Works Agency. Maintains appropriate records of inspections and recommendations on code requirements provided to the general public, contractors, architects and engineers.

• An Associate’s degree or completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units at an accredited college or university in, systems administration, network systems administration, electronics technology, business information systems, computer science, information technology or related field;

•  A Bachelor’s degree or completion of 120 semester or 180 quarter units from an accredited college or university with concentration in computer science, computer engineering, electronics technology, information technology or related field; 
  OR
• CompTIA A+ certification AND one year of experience in computer systems support, desktop/user support, general information technology support, telecommunications support or networking support.

Client Support Specialist II: 

Education and Experience: 

The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in one of the following ways: 

• A Technology Certificate from an accredited college, university or trade school in information technology, computer and information research science, computer engineering, computer applications, web technologies, computer information systems, application development, database design, programming, network architecture, network and computer systems administration, telecommunications administrations, electronic engineering technology, technology project management or related field AND TWO years of experience in computer systems support, desktop/user support, general information technology support, telecommunications support or networking support; 
  OR
• An Associate’s degree or completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units at an accredited college or university in systems administration, network systems administration, electronics technology, business information systems, computer science, software information systems, information technology or related field AND ONE year of experience in computer systems support, desktop/user support, general information technology support, telecommunications support or networking support; 
  OR 
• A Bachelor’s degree or completion of 120 semester or 180 quarter units from an accredited college or university with concentration in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, informatics, web science, electronics technology, business information systems or related field AND ONE year of experience in computer systems support, desktop/user support, general information technology support, telecommunications support or networking support; 
  OR 
• CompTIA A+ certification AND TWO years of experience in computer systems support, desktop/user support, general information technology support, telecommunications support or networking support.
