THE POSITION
Under supervision, a Building Inspector I performs detailed inspection of structures for conformance to codes, ordinances, approved plans, calculations, and specification; and other duties as assigned.

The Community Development Department is seeking enthusiastic and customer-service oriented candidates for the position of Permit Technician.
Under general supervision, the Permit Technician will perform specialized work associated with the processing of building permits and clerical work involving a substantial degree of judgment and initiative; and to do related work as required. This class is assigned to the Building Inspection Division of the Community Development Department.

The City of Berkeley is seeking a Housing Development Specialist (Community Development Project Coordinator)! In this role you will have the opportunity to be part of the team responsible for implementing the City’s Housing Trust Fund and Small Sites Programs. This position will work on renovations and new construction projects, the latter of which will include developments at the North Berkeley and Ashby BART sites. You'll work closely with nonprofit developers to underwrite project proposals, recommend funding, negotiate loan and regulatory agreements, and monitor project progress.
