The City of Redwood City is looking for people interested in working approximately 5 hours per week (Thursday evenings) planning, organizing and conducting basic recreation activities in a variety of settings selected by the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department. Incumbents will typically supervise teens, adults and seniors with various physical and/or developmental disabilities in the evening Chef Club Program.

The Recreation Supervisor will provide general administrative oversight and management of the Older Adult/Senior Services Unit and the Senior Nutrition Program. This position is also responsible for the department’s strategic efforts to improve the quality of life for older adults, including establishing and maintaining partnerships and supporting key policy development.

Recreation Specialist (Part Time) – Youth Services
Limited Term through December 15, 2020
$22.07 – $27.74 hourly (20-25 hours per week) without benefits
San Ysidro Cultural Center Program Hours*
Monday: 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 4:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Friday: 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Under general direction from the Arts and Recreation Director, the Aquatic & Fitness Supervisor is responsible to act as a liaison to the department’s robust Aquatic & Fitness programs and ensure the smooth operation of the facility including rentals, special events, and classes. This position requires a high level of customer service, attention to detail, marketing prowess, evaluation and oversight of Aquatic & Fitness division, and the ability to build relationships throughout the community.
