Hours: Casual non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Varying shifts are available including Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Under general supervision, individuals assigned to this classification assist the organization to develop and design reports, websites, social media collateral and other marketing and presentation materials. This classification focuses on the development of written and graphic representation for division or department materials. Individuals in this classification are primarily focused on enhancing the Division’s social media presence, developing all written material, performing administrative tasks, attending fairs and events to promote Recreation Services programs; and perform/ related work as required.

This position is characterized by developing new and innovative marketing collateral with limited structure or routine work. Work assignments are performed in collaboration with various divisions and levels of staff, independently, with responsibility for following through on development. Contacts are regularly made both internally and externally at all levels of the organization involving tact, discretion, good listening and customer service skills. The position requires creative ability, knowledge of how to generate graphics using The Adobe Suite, Canva, Microsoft Publisher, Word and Excel and the ability to exercise a reasonable degree of independent judgment. This classification assists with development and implementation of standards for consistency in materials, written and posted on the internet. Additionally, the position requires good written communication skills, public relations, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills and abilities. The Marketing Associate receives direction from program supervisors and management staff.

Essential Job Functions

(May include, but are not limited to, the following):

• Design and produce effective collateral for digital and print to promote programs, events and services
• Design and produce graphics materials using computer-based and traditional methods to meet organizational standards and deadlines
• Produce highly creative work within an established organizational style
• Edit electronic newsletter articles and blurbs, program descriptions for activity guide/fliers/online descriptions and social media posts
• Follow all City standards related to branding and writing (Associated Press style), or as otherwise directed, and meet deadlines

WORKING CONDITIONS
Position is required to work on the Community Center campus and may not work from home. Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination when using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision when reading and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service. The need to lift, push and pull files, paper and documents weighing up to 25 pounds also is required. Some of these requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodations.

Education and Experience:

PAL (Police Activities League) Program Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Electrical Engineer IV-V position performs a variety of exciting engineering duties associated with the NCPA generation fleet and the NCPA-affiliated members utilities. The Engineering Level IV-V will serve as a subject matter expert on power plant electrical systems and municipal electrical systems. The scope of  expertise includes both the technical and regulatory components of electrical generating facilities, generator protection, transmission systems, and substations systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position requires the incumbent to report to work and meetings on time, ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent, and performs special assignments as assigned. Employees at this level will manage numerous studies and assessments. Additionally, this position will manage or assist capital and maintenance improvement projects from concept to completion. This position also provides onsite electrical subject matter expertise to power plant operations, generator operator NERC subject matter expertise, and electrical training to staff. 

Level IV:  
This is the journey-level class within the engineer series. Working with minimal direction, employees at this level assist or lead capital projects, including project management, giving project assignments, reviewing work, providing guidance, and giving instruction to project personnel, including professional engineering staff, other staff, and contractors.  

Level V: 
This is the senior-level class within the engineering series. Working with minimal direction and often taking department goals and translating them into work assignments for individuals and other departments. Employees at this level are given the most complex multi-year projects.

Responsibilities:
Coordinate NERC regulatory requirements for the Generation Services department. Leads the Generations Service NERC Compliance Program. Ensures that all Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets (RSAWs) are completed in a timely manner and proper records are maintained. 

Conduct engineering, perform economic and technical feasibility studies on both capital improvements and project enhancements for the Geothermal, Hydroelectric, and the Combustion Turbine Plants facilities, microgrids, PSPS (Public Safety Power Shutoffs), distributed energy resources, and other distribution resources found in city utilizes. 

Leads and coordinates small to large work groups to support various initiatives. Develops and sets schedules, develops meeting agendas, and manages meetings to meet timelines. 

Participates in the review of technical and economic analysis of new projects, specifications, and agreements. Prepares periodic reports on progress and issues relating to the above.  

Provide verbal and written reports to committees and working groups on industry best practices, current technologies, and regulatory impacts. 

Performs “root cause” analysis on equipment malfunction and failures. Provides on-site plant technical support for electric systems. Provides electric system support for city distribution system. 

Provide support for preparing technical specifications by using industry-standard codes and practices and NCPA’s policies and procedures. 

Provides input to NCPA’s budget and business plan.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level IV:
Education and/or Experience      
This level requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering an accredited four-year college or university; and a minimum of 7 years of related experience and/or a combination of experience and additional training. A California Professional Engineering License is highly desirable and in some cases a requirement. 

Level V:
Education and/or Experience      
This level requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university; and a minimum of 8-10 years of related experience and/or a combination of experience and additional training. A California Professional Engineering License is highly desirable and in some cases a requirement.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES 
Knowledge:

Valid California Driver's License and insurance as frequent travel by car to NCPA facilities or NCPA member cities is required. 

An active California professional registration as an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer is highly desirable for both levels.

THE POSITION

The City is currently seeking General Maintenance Workers. This temporary position works with the City’s maintenance staff to perform: unskilled labor in the parks and landscape medians, street and sidewalk maintenance, street sign maintenance, and building maintenance. Duties include, but are not limited to: raking, emptying trash cans and litter removal, irrigation repair, weeding, edging, street sign maintenance and graffiti removal. San Mateo County Health is seeking a qualified Therapy Aide - Extra-Help for the Rehabilitation Services Department in the San Mateo Medical Center.

Rehabilitation Services provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to patients in the acute, long-term care, outpatient and acute psychiatric units of San Mateo Medical Center. Under supervision, the Therapy Aide assists Physical and Occupational Therapists with mobilizing patients and assisting physical and occupational therapists in carrying out treatments primarily on the acute medical/surgical and long-term care units of San Mateo Medical Center.

SMMC inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation department has a talented team of 35 physical, occupational and speech therapists. We take pride in excelling within San Mateo County's public hospital and clinics, taking care of the most diverse patient populations. Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Transport patients to and from therapy unit.
• Ambulate with patients who require supervision or minimum level of assistance to walk.
• Assist therapists in carrying out treatment programs for patients.
• Observe patients while undergoing treatment and report changes in the status of patients to the supervising therapist.
• Assist in lifting of patients.
• Clean and maintain therapy equipment and perform light general housekeeping duties.
• Assist patients to and from restrooms.
• Request supplies and maintain inventory.
• Answer telephones and perform light clerical duties; attend meetings.
• May assist in training or supervision of volunteer workers.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skill/Ability to:

• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Follow proper lifting techniques.
• Follow and comply with common hospital safety practices and procedures.
• Work with patients of different ages.
• Work with patients with acute and chronic disabilities.
• Understand and deal with depressed, mentally ill patients.
• Make basic mathematical computations.
• Learn to read gauges.

Licensure/Certification:
Possession of a Certificate of completion for a course in Basic Life Support as approved by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association; or must be obtained within six months of appointment.
