Day to day, the Deputy Director will assist in the management and administration of the Recreation Department. The Deputy Director will direct a team of four Recreation Supervisors and their respective divisions and facilities. He/she will also work with the Director to establish and refine best practices for the creation, implementation, and delivery of recreation programming and services. Additionally, the incumbent will assist with the development and coordination of the City’s Parks and Recreation Commission, as well as its Arts Commission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Including but not limited to):

•  Assists Director in supervision and administrative control over the organization, staffing, and operation of the Recreation Department and the 29,000 square foot Community Center.
• Engages in strategic thinking to develop and implement goals, objectives, priorities and policies.
• Provides staff assistance to the Director; provides interdepartmental support on various projects; develops and recommends modifications to recreation programs, facilities, policies, and procedures as appropriate.
• Conducts and supervises wide variety of special projects including policy analysis and development, program and facility development and customer service enhancement.
• Prepares a variety of regular and special reports and records on operations and activities related to the Recreation Department; develops professional service contracts, requests for qualification and proposal and completes grant applications and proposals.
• Responds to and resolves citizen inquiries and complaints and controversial issues.
• Represents the Department and the Director on various occasions and serves on a variety of internal and external committees. Acts in the absence of the Director.

With an established public arts program, hundreds of daily visitors to the Community Center, at-capacity youth programs, lively seniors, endless trails and open space, and so much more the Department (and position ) has to offer, the new Deputy Director will have endless ways in which he or she can make their mark and help build for the future in Mill Valley.

The City of Mill Valley is seeking a self-directed problem- solver with an entrepreneurial spirit, high standards of excellence, and demonstrated commitment to public service and program development.

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Coordinator II – Aquatics Safety manages the City’s Aquatics lifeguards and scheduling, including lap swim, water-walking, lifeguard certification, community CPR/First Aid classes and JR Lifeguard program.  This position also supervises all lifeguards, senior lifeguards and provides key assistance to the Recreation Supervisor on all related matters (works closely with Recreation Coordinator I- Aquatics programs to support division goals and activities).

The Aquatics & Fitness Center is a 7-day a week operation.

Recreation Coordinator II schedule may include Saturdays and Sundays and is subject to change depending on facility and supervisor needs. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Recruit, hire, manage, train, schedule, audit, discipline and evaluate staff, contractors, interns, and volunteers.
• Schedule and provide regular in-service training for aquatics staff.
• Schedule and provide regular class and certification offerings necessary to staff for the proper operation of a public pool facility.
• Manage and develop the swim lesson program to balance and meet the needs of the community and the goals of the Department.
• Plan, develop and implement programs and events.
• Evaluate the progress and effectiveness of scheduling and programming utilizing measurable outcomes.
• Coordinate with local police and fire agencies for emergency response protocols.
• Assist in the development of policies, procedures, contracts, and manuals for facility users and staff.
• Work with local organizations, businesses, school personnel, parents, and community members in developing recreational programs and activities.
• Maintain all personal certifications and be available to lifeguard, teach swim lessons, and otherwise supplement line staff when needed.
• Provide assistance and guidance to facility users, anticipate and resolve problems, provide quality customer service.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Coordinator I – Facilities is responsible for assisting with the smooth operation of activities, programs, rentals, and special events at multiple Recreation Facilities. This position requires a high level of customer service, attention to detail, marketing prowess, and event planning and management expertise.

• Act as the primary point of contact for rental inquiries, promptly responding to emails, phone calls, and in-person inquiries regarding facility rentals.
• Facilitate the rental booking process by liaising with internal staff and external parties to schedule rental dates, coordinate setup requirements, and confirm rental agreements.
• Oversee the rental application process by providing interested parties with necessary documentation, rental agreements, and pricing details.
• Collect and review rental applications, ensuring all required information is complete and accurate.
• Provide timely updates to both renters and internal stakeholders regarding rental status, payment deadlines, and any changes to rental arrangements.
• Maintain organized records of rental bookings, payments, and rental agreements, ensuring compliance with rental policies and procedures. 
• Schedule and provide regular in-service training for facilities staff. 
• Plan, develop and implement programs and events.
• Evaluate the progress and effectiveness of scheduling and programming utilizing measurable outcomes.
• Assist in the development of policies, procedures, contracts, and manuals for facility users and staff.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Public Health Nurse Intern/Public Health Nurse in the Health and Human Services Department. This position provides the full range of public health nursing services including teaching, health assessment, and counseling services in homes, clinics, schools and community centers in connection with the prevention and control of diseases and adverse health conditions. Public Health Nurses are assigned to specific programs such as Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health, California Children’s Services, Child Health and Disability Prevention, Foster Care and communicable disease control. Public Health Nurse Intern: is a recruiting and training level class established to qualify candidates for duties as a PHN in Yuba County Health & Human Services Department. Under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of public health nursing duties in assigned program areas while pursuing a Public Health Nurse Certification. Upon satisfactory completion of the PHN Certification, the PHN Intern are eligible for promotion to the level of PHN. Incumbents who do not successfully complete the PHN certification as prescribed herein may be released from employment.

Public Health Nurse: is the entry level in this class series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of public health nursing duties in assigned program areas. As experience is gained, assignments become more complex and are performed under more general supervision.

The City of Berkeley is seeking a Senior Public Health Nurse who is passionate about working with community members and partners! In this role, you will take an equity-focused approach to supporting good health for families and individuals across the lifespan.

The Senior Public Health Nurse will provide health consultations and case management in a multidisciplinary team for families facing complex health challenges. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Edison Clinic provides comprehensive patient-centered HIV primary care services to persons living with HIV (PLWH) within San Mateo County as well as provides services in diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) to all San Mateo county residents. The Mobile Health Clinic/Street and Field Medicine program provides field-based medical care focusing on homeless, formerly incarcerated, and farmworker/farmworker family member individuals.
