After-School Recreational Leader
Hourly Rate: $15.73-$23.27
This is a temporary, seasonal at-will position working less than 950 hours per fiscal year and is non-benefited.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT AND THE POSITION
Under general direction and support of the Recreation & Community Services Director, the Recreation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of weekly planning, staffing, supervision, and evaluation of the City’s Teen Center and Friendship Club Programs. The City of Albany’s after-school recreation program is for children grades 1–5 attending Albany schools is called the Friendship Club. The program provides a well-supervised environment for children to make friends, enhance self-esteem and develop social skills.

Under direct supervision, the Public Service Assistant II will perform litter/trash pick-up, barbeque maintenance, leaf/debris pick-up, and miscellaneous park duties in Central Park and other community parks. The Public Service Assistant II will also perform related duties as assigned.
The Tiny Tots Instructor will teach assigned classes of pre-school children ranging in ages from 18 months to 5 years old in enrichment, recreational and educational based programming (Tiny Tots Aide will assist).
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)
The After School Instructor will plan, prepare, and instruct recreation activities (Instructor Aides will assist). Activities may include art, cooking, dance, pre-school program and other program areas. Programs are designed for children ages 6–12 years of age (school grades 2nd to 6th). Job site placement: Brier, Cabrillo, or Grimmer Elementary.
