The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Senior Solid Waste Supervisor in the Zero Waste Division of the Public Works Department! In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Zero Waste Operations Manager and the Solid Waste Supervisor(s) on a daily basis to ensure that all operations are carried out safely and in compliance with environmental obligations. In addition, this role oversees the onboarding and recurring training programs for Solid Waste Workers and Drivers; interacts with the Division Manager to implement initiatives, policies, and procedures; and works closely to resolve customer service issues that arise at the council level.

The Senior Solid Waste Supervisor also works closely with peers across all operations to ensure consistent safety and operational standards and performance. Furthermore, this position leads the implementation of new routing and customer data management systems, participates in equipment purchase committees, and determines the staffing and resources needed to achieve desired operational goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is equivalent to graduation from high school and five (5) years of increasingly responsible journey level experience in integrated solid waste collection, diversion and disposal which included two (2) years at the level equivalent to the Solid Waste Supervisor class.

Other requirements include possession of a valid class "C" California driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record. Candidates must be willing to work evening, early morning, holidays, and weekend shifts. Candidates must report changes in status of driver’s license.

THE POSITION: The San Mateo Public Library is seeking energetic individuals to provide a wide variety of library support work. Work Environment:  This position is part of Administrative Services at Midpen’s office in Los Altos, California.  Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work schedule for this position.

Education and Experience:  any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: 

• equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by college-level coursework in accounting or finance, and
• three (3) years in the maintenance of financial and accounting records
• experience in public sector finance, with the knowledge of principles of governmental financial recordkeeping and bookkeeping, is highly desired.

Licenses & Certifications Required:   Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
