The City of San José, Office of the City Attorney is seeking an entry-level attorney in the Transactional division. Under the direction and supervision of senior management in the Office of the City Attorney, the Associate Deputy City Attorney position will perform basic attorney work benefiting a variety of City Departments while receiving valuable training and experience for a career in public service.

This position performs legal work in the enforcement of laws; prosecutes criminal cases as assigned by the District Attorney; advises the general public and law enforcement officers on criminal matters; and does related work as required. The position is at-will, temporary, part-time and scheduled for twenty-four (24) hours per week.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The City of Berkeley invites applications for the position of Permit Specialist! In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide a one-stop service to the public for permit applications. You will collect fees, process and issue building permits, and review and issue permits for the Fire, Health, and Public Works Departments.
