THE JOB

The Labor & Employee Relations Manager will play a crucial role in fostering positive relationships between the City and its workforce. This is an exciting growth opportunity, as they will manage a significant and growing team, drive positive culture, champion important initiatives for workplace wellness, and assess technology needs across the Department. The Manager will oversee employee onboarding activities and champion workforce policies and procedures and continuously foster a culture of creativity and constant improvement. This is an unrepresented mid-management classification that oversees, directs, and participates in the day-to-day operations of an assigned Human Resources division, including planning, and budgeting, coordinating with other divisions and departments, and managing and accomplishing the complex and varied functions of the department. Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible Human Resources management experience including assignments in the areas of recruitment, selection, classification, training, compensation, employee and labor relations, worker's compensation and safety administration, and employee benefits or other pertinent job-related areas, including two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience.

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources, business, or public administration or closely related field.

The Tiny Tots Instructor will teach assigned classes of pre-school children ranging in ages from 18 months to 5 years old in enrichment, recreational and educational based programming (Tiny Tots Aide will assist).

We're looking for a Supervising Public Health Nurse to manage programs in our Public Health Division! Join us in our mission to achieve health equity and optimal health for all people in Berkeley through systems change, service provision, and collaboration with community members and partners.

As a Supervising Public Health Nurse, you will have the opportunity to direct the Family Support Services Unit or the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Unit. You will supervise nursing and support staff, develop program goals and policies, and perform professional nursing work within your program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is: Possession of an M.D. or D.O degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school and completion of a psychiatric residency training program approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Other requirements include:

• Possession of a valid license to practice medicine issued by the State of California, and
• Possession of a current Controlled Substance Registration certificate issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration by date of appointment.

Incumbent must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, the incumbent is required to maintain a valid California driver's license as well as a satisfactory driving record.
