THE POSITION: 

The City of San Pablo is actively recruiting for a Community Services Coordinator I/II position to plan, organize, and direct services and programs within the Community Services Department for our senior population, volunteer programs and city-wide special events. Our senior programs provide opportunities for adults 50 years of age and older, to engage in active and healthy programming. The Church Lane Senior Center hosts a congregate lunch program, numerous senior focused special events, weekday door-to-door transportation service (managed by a different full-time coordinator) and drop- in programs and classes. The city hosts 10-12 city-wide special events each year that include family dances, spring egg hunt, Cinco de Mayo celebration, Movies Under the Stars, 4th of July Multi-Cultural celebration, Halloween, Veterans Day and a Winter Wonderland Festival. The Community Services Department relies heavily on volunteers for both special events and senior programs and wants to expand the volunteer recruitment and training program.

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Accounting Office Specialist II. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of fiscal and accounting support tasks within complex accounting systems and utilizing automated accounting systems and spreadsheet applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is: 
Equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years of accounting clerical support experience. College-level accounting coursework may substitute for the required experience, on the basis of twelve (12) semester or sixteen (16) quarter units equaling one year of experience.

Successful completion of college-level courses in accounting and budgeting and internal certificates of competencies in accounting, labor distribution and accounting software are highly desirable.

Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside of Berkeley to meet program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, maintenance of a valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required.

Typical Duties:

• Responds to fire, medical, and other emergencies.
• Perform fire, rescue and hazardous materials evolutions and operate equipment necessary to deal with the emergency situation within the District standards and within the Firefighter 1 certification.
• Provide emergency medical treatment as an Emergency Medical Technician I and assist paramedics as requested.
• Perform fire prevention, pre-fire planning, public education, public relations efforts, and hydrant maintenance.
• Drives and operates all fire apparatus and, if qualified, the Districts’ aerial in a safe manner and with due regard for the welfare of the public and the District.
• Maintains familiarity of streets, topography, physical conditions, and other matters affecting response in the District.
• Maintains familiarity with the District policies, procedures, and programs.
• Maintains proficiency in basic firefighting and rescue techniques and participates in District training programs.

The Position

The City of Fremont, Human Services Department - Billing Unit is looking looking for candidates who are eager and interested to learn and grow their finance and billing skills and be part of a dynamic customer service oriented team. Under direct supervision of the Management Analyst II, the Human Services Billing Unit Accounting Specialist I will work as part of a billing team and also across the various department divisions. This position is responsible for assisting in the billing process of our Medi-Cal programs through the use of our new electronic health record system and other county, state and

funder based billing systems. Our department provides an array of counseling and case management services to children, youth, seniors and families across the Tri-City area. The Billing Unit is tasked with ensuring that our services are billed to the appropriate sources. The Administration Division of HSD specifically supports a robust grants program that administers federal and local funding that addresses the needs of lower income Fremont residents. The Department receives approximately $2.2 million in annual federal funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and an additional $800,000 in local funding to administer to non-profit and community agencies that provide vital services to Fremont’s most vulnerable residents.

The Position

The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for a variety of advanced level fiscal clerical assignments. This position provides administrative support of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Programs (HOME) programs related to affordable housing and services to low income residents.

Examples of Job Duties

• Prepare and execute contracts for CDBG, ESG, HOME, and SSG Grant Programs.
• Provide contract administration/clerical support, which includes keeping and maintaining detailed records and information required by federal grant programs.
• Prepare and execute purchases orders, process invoices, and keep grant accounting records.
• Provide support of the CDBG Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) meetings and provide assistance through the coordination of the meeting schedule, preparation of meeting agendas, summary notes of meetings, and other materials (requires evening attendance).
• Assist in the Request for Proposal (RFP) Process for all grant programs and provide assistance in operating Zoom Grants for the intake, review, and final scoring of grant proposal applications.
• Provide customer service assistance to subgrantee agencies for a variety of contract administration needs.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain records needed to help programs meet audit requirements.
• Process CDBG Rehabilitation loan payoff and subordination requests. Research and analyze loan agreement regulations on a case-by-case basis.

The Position & Responsibilities

The Executive Assistant to the City Manager is a critical position in the City Manager’s Office. Examples of responsibilities include the following:
• Maintain executive's appointment schedule by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel.
• Conserve executive's time by reading, researching, and routing correspondence; drafting/proofing letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information.
• Maintain confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
• Prepare reports by collecting and analyzing information; Assist in development and preparation of staff reports for submittal to the City Manager or City Council; develop PowerPoint presentations.
• Compile staff reports for quality assurance and completeness.

THE POSITION:

 

The City of Hayward is excited to announce its recruitment for the position of Lateral Communications Operator. 

DEFINITION

Under general supervision from the Communications Supervisor, the Communications Operator operates a computer aided dispatch system receiving calls and dispatching police, fire or other City services.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is a journey technical level position in which incumbents are expected to independently perform the full range of duties assigned. This class is distinguished from the Communications Supervisor in that the latter provides technical and functional supervision over assigned communication personnel.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Communications Center in the Support Services Division of the Hayward Police Department is responsible for dispatching both Police and Fire Services throughout the City of Hayward. The Hayward Police Department is one of 18 CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement) accredited police departments in California and is committed to maintaining CALEA's high standards and broadly recognized excellence.
The Communications Center is frequently the first point of contact that a member of the public will have when requesting assistance from the City of Hayward. The information gathered by the communications operator during this contact is critical to a positive outcome. The Communications Center consists of six (6) stations with each communications operator assigned to a specific job.
 

 

Essential Duties

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

Minimum Qualifications

LATERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience: Two (2) years of experience as a public safety dispatcher for a Public Safety Answering Point, including heavy public contact while performing multiple tasks and using a computer-aided dispatch system.

Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.

Licenses and Certificates: Completion of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Basic Public Safety Dispatcher course is highly desirable.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Typing Certificate: A typing certificate with 35 net words per minute 

1. Certificates will be accepted from a public school, business school or temporary agency; certificates from Internet testing services and/or home computer CD testing will NOT be accepted.
2. Typing certificate (or signed statement on official letterhead from the testing agency) must be dated no earlier than six (6) months prior to the date of the application filing.
3. Typing certificate (or signed letter) must state all of the following information:

· Five (5)-minute timed typing test.
· Gross typing speed in words per minute.
· Gross number of errors.
· Net words per minute
