The City of Albany is currently accepting applications of the position of Community Development Assistant. This is the entry-level class in the City’s professional Planner series, reporting initially to the Sustainability and Resilience Program Manager. The Community Development Assistant may be assigned technical/professional duties within either or all the functional areas of the City’s Community Development Department, which include general planning administration and enforcement, sustainability & resilience, economic development or transportation.

Reporting to the Director of Environmental Services, this manager leads and manages the Solid Waste Programs Division including the award-winning Sunnyvale Materials Recovery and Transfer (SMaRT) Station, the solid waste collection franchise contract and the Sunnyvale Landfill.
