The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of a Limited Term Project Manager in the Administrative Services Department, with a focus on the scheduled Library Renovation. This limited term appointment is set to end in June 2025. 

The incumbent will plan, direct and coordinate activities concerned with the implementation or administration of a project; participate in the conceptual development of a project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation; coordinate project activities or functions with other County staff, associated agencies, and contractors as appropriate; may direct, review and evaluate the work of assigned staff. This is a broad classification managing mid- to large-scale projects that are largely of an analytical, programmatic and/or financial nature.  

This is the management level in the project management series. 

About Administrative Services:

The Administrative Services Department provides logistical and resource support to all County departments. We are the primary provider of Custodial Services, Fleet Services, Capital Improvement Planning and Acquisition and Facilities Maintenance. We provide purchasing guidance and serve as Purchasing Agent for County procurement needs as well as assist vendors interested in doing business with the County.

Examples of Duties:

• Participate in and supervise the design, implementation, integration and/or installation required for the project assigned; schedule the project timeline in logical steps and budget the appropriate amount of time required to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate, conduct and review a variety of complex analytical and support activities, including policy and procedure development and implementation; assist in the development and implementation of project goals, objectives, procedures and work standards.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports or cost tracking reports.
• Confer with other County staff, the Purchasing Agent, associated agencies and contractors to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
• Work with the Purchasing Agent to manage the consultant and contractor selection RFQ/RFP/IFB process and participate as a member of the consultant selection committee; manage resulting contracts; monitor projects, and documents related steps and procedures to ensure compliance with contract provisions.
• Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.  

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The City of San José Housing Department is a leader in the development of affordable housing. Its mission is to strengthen and to revitalize our community through housing and neighborhood investment. The Housing Department provides loans for the development of affordable housing and manages a portfolio of over 17,000 housing units with a total value that exceeds $700 million. Over the next five years, the City Council has a goal of creating 25,000 housing units, 10,000 of which will be affordable. The Housing Department has an operating budget of approximately $19 million and 110 employees. The Development Officer will be assigned to the Multifamily Project Development Program and will manage all phases of affordable housing lending. Tasks will include, but not be limited to: working with affordable housing developers and community groups to proactively manage affordable housing projects from the earliest stages through completion; underwriting loans for the production, rehabilitation and preservation of affordable rental housing with tax credit and/or tax-exempt bond financing, with a focus on determining feasibility and effect on the City's repayments, risks and policy objectives; reviewing financial statements and proformas for feasibility; managing support staff.

Under general supervision, the Shelter Volunteer Coordinator assists in the planning, organization, implementation and review of the Animal Care Volunteer Program; assists with recruiting, training, scheduling and evaluation of volunteer staff; performs community liaison functions, coordinates public relations activities; humane education programs and performs related work as required.
 

You are:

The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a volunteer coordinator working in an animal shelter. The candidate will have experience handling shelter animals and be able to train volunteers how to safely handle animals. The candidate will have experience in volunteer program development as well as the ability to analyze volunteer program data for retention. The ideal candidate will have some experience using the Chameleon software for animal management.  

Essential Duties

What you will do:   

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
 
Recruits, interviews, recommends, orients, trains and evaluates volunteers; schedules their daily work assignments and activities to assure maximum program coverage and effectiveness;
 
Ensures that all departmental procedures are followed.

Designs and develops training and orientation programs in a variety of areas including volunteer program procedures, applicable laws and department policies, techniques for dealing effectively with the public, and the proper and humane handling of animals.
 
Assists with production and update of volunteer training manuals and volunteer job descriptions.
 
Coordinates ongoing training opportunities for volunteers to enhance their skills and keep them engaged; implements a system to provide volunteers with consistent recognition to increase volunteer retention.
 
Coordinates volunteer meetings and annual Volunteer Recognition event.

Experience: Two (2) years progressively responsible experience in volunteer program management, public relations, project management or similar field. At least one (1) year of professional animal handling experiences is highly desired.
 
Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade. Education and coursework related to Public Administration, Animal Behavior, and Veterinary Office Assisting or similar is highly desired.
 
License & Certificates: Possess and maintain a valid California Class C Driver's License.

The Department of Public Works is currently recruiting to fill a Communications Technician position for the Radio Communications Shop. The Radio Communications shop maintains the communication system for the City of San José that is used by multiple departments, such as: Police, Fire, Department of Transportation, Parks Recreation Neighborhood Services (Park Rangers), and Public Works (Animal Care & Services).

THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City is seeking a value-driven team player to fill the position of Permit System Analyst in the Community Development Department. This 2-year contract management analyst I/II position will work full-time (40 hours per week) and will report to the Community Development Director or designee.

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Managing the City’s “Community Development” permit system by CentralSquare, including its integration with other systems and applications, such as the City’s financial system (Oracle Fusion Cloud), and plan check software (Bluebeam).
• Providing end-user and content management of the permit system, implementing permit fee changes, workflow changes, and other system modifications.
• Leading the development of new or revised permit system processes and procedures, developing action plans, and leading staff on the testing and implementation of system improvements and modifications.

• Providing technical support to permit system end-users and coordinating with the system vendor (CentralSquare) to report and resolve system bugs, and scheduling and implementing system upgrades in coordination with Information Technology staff.

The City of Berkeley is seeking a Housing Development Specialist (Community Development Project Coordinator)! In this role you will have the opportunity to be part of the team responsible for implementing the City’s Housing Trust Fund and Small Sites Programs. This position will work on renovations and new construction projects, the latter of which will include developments at the North Berkeley and Ashby BART sites. Lead and/or supervisory experience is desirable.

A master's degree in a related program is desirable and can be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

Must be able to attend evening meetings. A valid California driver's license is desirable.
