The Unit has the responsibility for administering the Airport's network & telecom infrastructure, outside plant infrastructure, data centers, application services, Helpdesk, desktop support, website services, business process improvement initiatives, and the project management office (PMO). Along with these services, the Airport Technology Services Department team also provides services to the airlines, City staff, and tenants.

The SAP I will provide applications systems solutions and support for users at SJC and will be responsible for:
• Providing programming / technical level support for the Airport's intranet, built on SharePoint Online (SPO).
• Providing technical level support to implement BPA (Business Process Automation) tools on SPO. This includes providing SimpliGov, WorkFlow, Power Automate, MS Teams, and other similar No-Code / Low-Code technology solutions.
• Implementing and deploying new applications releases - such as Bentley Projectwise Document Management System and Airport ERP (i.e. Propworks). These are systems that have been purchased by the Airport and currently run on-premise. Airport IT provides platform support and Level 1 applications support for these systems. On-going systems enhancements and level 2 support (and beyond) are provided by the application vendors.
• Maintaining and enhancing Airport applications using tools including SQL server, Microsoft Visual Studio, and similar applications development tools.
• Development, deployment, and support of Airport specific tools and applications tools as appropriate to improve Airport business processes and procedures.

In addition to the citywide SAP skills requirements, the following technical skills will be essential:

This is the first level in the Systems Applications Programmer Series and incumbents are expected to be able to perform all normal programming functions related to standard jobs not involving unusual applications. Salary range for this classification is: $81,790.80 - $99,437.52

This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

The Position:
Community Service Officer I
The Community Service Officer I is an entry-level position assigned to the Field Operations Division of the Police Department. The successful incumbent will provide support to sworn Police Officers and departmental operations.
 
Community Service Officer II
The Community Service Officer II is a journey level position which provides a broader range of responsibility and requires a higher level of experience and training. The successful incumbent will provide support to sworn Police Officers and departmental operations and has the ability to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative.

THE POSITION: 
This position inspects plans or buildings and construction for compliance with structural building codes, laws and ordinances and provides training and working lead assistance to other inspectors on structural matters as required.

You are: 
The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of the California Building Codes, CalGreen Code and related codes and regulations, including the methods, materials, techniques and practices employed in building inspection industry. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have working knowledge of the principles and practices of organization, administration, the ability to manage complex projects through inspection skills; and organization and functions of the various trades, agencies and organizations involved in the construction process, in addition to being an outstanding person, who aspires to excellence in customer service and is a committed team player.

•  Building, housing, plumbing, mechanical and electrical codes with specialized knowledge of materials and standards to be applied in structural inspections.

• Perform the physical aspects of a field inspection.
• Effectively train and provide working lead assistance to building inspectors.

• Read and interpret building plans and specifications and enforce their application.

 Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:  
Four (4) years of experience dealing with code compliance considerations related to the structural elements of buildings.
OR
Two (2) years structural inspection experience involving major commercial or industrial installations.  

Education: 
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.                          
 
License:  
Possession of a Class C California Drivers License.

ICBO (International Conference of Building Officials) Certification as a structural and/or combination inspector is highly desirable, but not required.

About the Highway Program Deputy Director

The Highway Program Deputy Director, reporting to the Chief of Engineering and Program Delivery, manages a diverse and talented team of seasoned staff who is well-versed on the delivery of capital projects related to the State highway system and other roadways in the county. The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Public Health Nurse Intern/Public Health Nurse in the Health and Human Services Department. As a Certified Building Inspector I or II, you will perform skilled inspection work in the enforcement of building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, zoning and related codes and regulations that govern new building and housing construction, additions, alterations, repairs and use of existing buildings. This work includes resolving problems and complaints to final resolution.

These classifications differ in that the Building Inspector I works under closer supervision and performs less complex inspection work than the Building Inspector II.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities is:
Equivalent to graduation from high school and experience as specified below.

• Building Inspector I:
  • One year of full-time experience as a building inspector with a public agency, OR
  • Four years of full-time experience as a journey level carpenter, electrician, plumber, building plans examiner, public works inspector or permit specialist, OR
  • Three years of full-time experience in the building construction field as a licensed general, plumbing, electrical or mechanical contractor, OR
  • Completion of a two year AA program or equivalent in construction technology or a related field and a minimum of four ICC certificates including building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical.
• Building Inspector II:
  • Three years of full time experience in building inspection work with a public agency.

Other requirements include possession of a valid International Code Council (ICC) Commercial and Residential Building Inspector Certificate or equivalent. In addition, Building Inspector II requires possession of a valid ICC Commercial and Residential Electrical Inspector Certification or equivalent. Equivalency shall be determined by the building official in accordance with state law. Required certifications must be maintained as a condition of employment.

Incumbents in both positions must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, maintenance of a valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required.
