Village Park Preschool is a play-based preschool program offered by the City of Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department. We offer 4 programs: Lil’ Sprouts (2 year olds), Cottage Kids (3 year olds), Playschool Villagers (4 year olds), and Kinder Club (4 year olds).  The emphasis of the program is physical, social, and emotional growth in a child-centered environment. Under direction of a Recreation Coordinator, the Preschool Teacher plans, schedules, and organizes preschool classes for the City’s Village Park Preschool program, assures policies and procedures are maintained, and performs related work as required.

Essential Duties

• Plan, organize, and implement activities that support early childhood education and socialization;
• Lead a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time;

• Maintain and care for supplies, equipment, and the facility;
• Report any supply requests and facility maintenance needs;
• Set up daily snack, change diapers and support toilet training;

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently recruiting for two full-time Animal Care Services Officer. Under close supervision, incumbents enforces State and County laws regarding stray, dangerous, rabid, nuisance and unwanted domestic animals; investigates complaints; patrols assigned areas; captures animals; removes dead animals from public and private properties; assist in feeding and cleaning animal enclosures; assist with euthanizations and disposal of animals in a humane and prescribed method and performs other duties related to humane animal protection and control; performs related work as assigned including assisting the public with drop off, pick up and adoption of animals as necessary.  This is a working level class in animal control, responsible for enforcing applicable regulations in a limited public officer capacity. The City of Foster City is looking for a Building Maintenance Worker I who is able to perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on municipal buildings, facilities, and equipment in the Building Maintenance Division. This position performs routine and standardized tasks and duties such as plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical activities.

Education and Training Guidelines
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way would be:

Selection Process

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview. An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. TEMPORARY POTTERY INSTRUCTOR

 (Recreation Instructor 2 - Job Code 9523)

Hours: 3 to 9 hours/week. Casual non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30).  

Recreation Services Division is seeking self-motivated, energetic, responsible individuals interested in employment as a pottery instructor for adults. Under general supervision of the Recreation Services Coordinator, pottery instructors are responsible for teaching pottery techniques through lecture and demonstrations.  Classes are run year-round and meet once a week for 3 hours. Class sessions are six weeks long and include a week break for cleaning and restocking after two consecutive class sessions (every 12 weeks).

• Teach pottery/ceramic classes by leading and demonstrating techniques associated with the subject matter
• Maintain a safe, friendly and inclusive class environment for all participants
• Adjust class as appropriate and as needed to meet the various skill levels of participants
• Develop curriculum for each class meeting
• Knowledge of glazing and firing techniques
• Develop projects to keep class interesting for both regular and repeat participants

WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading reports and work related documents and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing personal customer service. The need to lift, drag and push, pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds is also required. Pottery and ceramic techniques including centering, wheel throwing, slab rolling, wedging, hand-building, low- and high-firing and glazing is required. Experience with alternative firing techniques is desirable, but not required.
ABILITY TO

• Work autonomously and as part of a team
• Develop new and interesting class curriculum
• Work with students of all levels and skill sets simultaneously

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• A degree(s) in pottery/ceramics 
• Practicing ceramicist/potter with exhibition and studio experience
• Experience with alternative firing techniques
