Village Park Preschool is a play-based preschool program offered by the City of Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department. We offer 4 programs: Lil’ Sprouts (2 year olds), Cottage Kids (3 year olds), Playschool Villagers (4 year olds), and Kinder Club (4 year olds).  The emphasis of the program is physical, social, and emotional growth in a child-centered environment. Activities are designed to foster a healthy child that develops an early love of learning. The City of Burlingame is looking for an energetic, caring, creative, and responsible Preschool Teacher. Under direction of a Recreation Coordinator, the Preschool Teacher plans, schedules, and organizes preschool classes for the City’s Village Park Preschool program, assures policies and procedures are maintained, and performs related work as required.

Essential Duties

• Plan, organize, and implement activities that support early childhood education and socialization;
• Lead a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time;
• Ensure proper safety precautions are observed;
• Maintain and care for supplies, equipment, and the facility;
• Report any supply requests and facility maintenance needs;
• Set up daily snack, change diapers and support toilet training;
• Help with preparation of monthly newsletter;
• Complete assigned paperwork, including time cards and incident and accident reports;
• Communicate regularly with parents and staff to disseminate information and build positive relationships;
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Must be a mature, dependable, responsible, and understanding person who is able to work cooperatively with children, staff and parents.   

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

• Knowledge of early childhood education principles, curriculum development, and best practices.
• Completion of 24 units of Early Childhood Education.
• Teaching certification or license for early childhood education (preferred).

Under the direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Aide supports the lead teacher in providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. The BeautifySJ Program is a blight reduction, community and neighborhood beautification, and encampment management program within the Community Services Division of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services Department. BeautifySJ Programs include, the Graffiti Removal Program, Illegal Dumping Program, Neighborhood Dumpster Day Program, Neighborhood Litter Program, Recreational Vehicle Pollution Prevention Program, Encampment Trash removal Program, Clean Gateways and Cash for Trash Program.

The Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department is currently seeking to fill two temporary (Overstrength) full-time Community Activity Specialist vacancy in the BeautifySJ Prorgram. The position is currently funded through June 30, 2026. These two (2) Community Activity Specialist who will support the Encampment Management Team with the implementation of the no return/no encampment zone for encampments. In addition to this assignment, these two positions will assist the encampment abatement teams with weekly abatement activities including noticing encampments, referrals to partner departments for outreach, providing education on encampment setback areas. The position daily engagement with those residing in homeless encampments. Those selected for the positions can expect to work in-person, 40 hours per week with a typical in-person schedule of Monday-Friday.

Applicants can also expect at times to work on activities and events and may include evening and weekend work.

The duties of this position will consist of:
 

• Posting encampment abatement notices at encampments
• Engaging with those who reside in homeless encampments to educate them on the "no return zone" and other encampment setbacks
• Working in and near homeless encampment locations
• Pilot and document best practices for a no-encampment zones
• Coordinate with city officials, other City Departments, law enforcement, and service providers to ensure a unified approach to clearing and managing encampments
• Coordinating resources and scheduling workload for efforts including but not limited to Secondary Employment Unit (SEU) requests and scheduling through SJPD outreach service requests to the Housing Department, etc.
• Process reports and data tracking through the Survey123 system

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is conducted both in a fire station and in the field in various settings. THE POSITION

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for a special individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Children’s Full Service Partnership/Children and Transitional Age Youth (FSP/ C TAY). T he Analyst I/II is an onsite position l ocated at Fire Administration in the Office of the Fire Chief (OFC) which reports directly to the Safety Program Manager. The OFC oversees and supports all organizational divisions including five distinct bureaus: Administrative Services, Support Services, Fire Prevention, Emergency Medical Services and Training, and Field Operations; and the Fire Communications Division. The Safety Program Manager oversees the Department's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Workers' Compensation, Health and Wellness and supports the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team.

The Analyst I/II position will primarily oversee the Workers' Compensation functions, acting as the liaison between injured employees, the Department, and the Workers' Compensation third-party administrator. In addition to Workers' Compensation, the Analyst I/ II is responsible fo r supporting other critical administrative functions as assigned.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Ensure Workers' Compensation claims are submitted within required timelines and act as the Department Liaison to the City's third-party Workers' Compensation administrator.
• Maintain contact with injured employees, ensure the Department has current, updated work statuses for each employee and update the Department's internal staffing tool to ensure employee work statuses are accurately reflected.
• Coordinate the return of employees to work in either a modified duty or regular duty capacity with all involved Department bureaus.
• Act as the Department Liaison with the City's Disability Retirement Committee and Human Resources Workers' Compensation Division, including attendance at monthly meetings.
• Maintain internal recordkeeping and spreadsheets for Supervisor's Accident Investigation Reports (SAIR), Annual Physicals, OSHA 300A Logs, Conversion Sheets for compliance of pay period hours, and Modified Duty and Disability statuses as well as manage personnel records and retention schedules.
