The Position

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is recruiting for the position of Assistant Counsel I/II in the Office of General Counsel. This position will focus primarily on civil prosecution of air quality violations, including cases seeking civil penalties and/or injunctive relief before the Air District’s administrative Hearing Board and in Superior Court. Experience prosecuting or defending such cases under air quality or other environmental laws, or in other similar enforcement contexts, is highly desirable. The position will also provide legal advice, counseling and representation on related legal issues arising under local, state and federal air pollution laws and regulations, including air quality permitting, development of new regulations, California Environmental Quality Act issues, contract drafting, administrative law issues, and civil rights compliance, among others. Assistant Counsel II is the journey level class of this specialized series, fully competent to perform a wide range of environmental law work. JOB SUMMARY: The San Mateo County Transit District is seeking a highly technical IT Operations Supervisor to join our team. Under the supervision of the IT Operations Manager, the Supervisor will coordinate the efficient and effective operations of the Help Desk team for the District, including work direction and supervision of Help Desk staff and coordination with other District information technology staff. This position is responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work; documenting and gaining approval for all help desk support procedures and system documentation; and assisting team members in answering calls, addressing service or escalation issues, and applying independent decision making to resolve problems or escalate problems to management. The IT Operations Supervisor develops regular reports on help desk contacts, ensures that service levels are met, identifies trends and makes recommendations for service improvements, and provides budgetary recommendations to management for service growth and/or improvement.

IT Operations Supervisor will work closely with various users in San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans), the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (Caltrain), and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) and other departments and is responsible for managing all procedures related to the identification, prioritization, and resolution of end user help requests, including the monitoring, tracking, and coordination of Help Desk functions. Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience equivalent to:

• Position requires a minimum of five-years commercial driving experience as an inter-city transit Full Time Bus Operator.

• Must have intermediate and proficient computer skills. including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Power Point. Computer aided dispatching software experience is preferred.

• Lead inspections for non-residential commercial and industrial projects, new and existing.
• Perform above duties with limited supervision.
• Provide information to senior staff to prepare case violations for hearing; testify in court as required.

Building Inspector III (In addition to the above):

• Provide lead direction, training and work review to professional and technical staff; organize and assign work accordingly, set priorities and follow-up to ensure coordination and completion of assigned work; provide input into performance evaluation.
• Perform complex and difficult in nature assignments; respond to highly sensitive, complete or technical complaints; validate the nature of the complaint and recommend solutions.
• Independently perform the full range of the Building Inspector I/II duties.
• Implement new or modified policies and procedures and train/develop other staff as required.
• Make presentations to groups and coordinate public meetings.

**Signing Bonus Qualification Criteria:

• First Installment of $2,500, the candidate must apply, qualify for and be hired (e.g. first time appointment) by CDSA.
• Second Installment of $2,500, the recently hired employee must successfully complete six months of County service (achieving a "meets standards" or above on the six-month performance evaluation).

The City of Belmont is seeking a Pool Manager / Senior Lifeguard to supervise the Summer Aquatics Program at the Carlmont High School Aquatics Center.

• Must hold current Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid Certificates. With proof of payment, the City will reimburse you for the cost of the lifeguard certification training at the end of the aquatics season.

Shift is from 9:30am-5:15pm Monday-Friday. Hours and days are flexible. Potential for hiring an AM Pool Manager and then a PM Pool Manager based on availability. 

• Must have at least one year of lifeguard experience, with some supervisory experience

This is a part-time position.  Hours will range up to 40 hours per week with no weekend shifts. Typical shift is from 9AM-5PM Monday - Friday.

Must hold current Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid Certificates by June 1st, 2024. With proof of payment, the City will reimburse you for the cost of the lifeguard certification training at the end of the aquatics season if certification is obtained in the 2024 year.
