Under direction of a Recreation Coordinator, the Preschool Teacher plans, schedules, and organizes preschool classes for the City’s Village Park Preschool program, assures policies and procedures are maintained, and performs related work as required.

Essential Duties

• Plan, organize, and implement activities that support early childhood education and socialization;
• Lead a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time;
• Ensure proper safety precautions are observed;
• Maintain and care for supplies, equipment, and the facility;
• Report any supply requests and facility maintenance needs;

• Completion of 24 units of Early Childhood Education.

The Assistant Civil Engineer is an entry-level class in the Civil Engineer series. This class is distinguished from the Associate Civil Engineer by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the Civil Engineer series. Incumbents perform less complex office and field engineering work and assignments are generally routine or closely related within a framework of established procedures. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have applicable education but only limited related work experience. The Assistant Civil Engineer receives general supervision from higher level professional engineers and may exercise technical or functional supervision over technical engineering staff. The Assistant Civil Engineer position does not require registration as a civil engineer or professional engineer. 

The Associate Civil Engineer performs a variety of complex engineering work for design, investigation, and management of public works projects and oversight of private development and permitted construction, prepares a variety of engineering documents, drawings and specifications, to act as project manager in assigned capital projects; and to perform a variety of professional public works and engineering tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.  

This is the full journey level class within the professional Civil Engineer series. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Assistant Civil Engineer by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, including by the greater complexity of the assignments received and by the greater independence with which an incumbent is expected to operate. Incumbents are expected to complete complex engineering assignments requiring the use of judgment and initiative in developing solutions to problems, interpreting general policies, and determining work assignments. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the Assistant Civil Engineer level, or when filled from the outside, have prior advanced technical or professional engineering work experience. What You’ll Do

The Assistant to the City Clerk position serves as the welcoming and friendly face of government for both the City Council and the City Clerk’s office as this position is the first contact for the front counter and the primary receptionist. The position requires an ability to help demystify government services and processes, learn and maintain an understanding of all government services and procedures and help citizens get to the right service. The position’s administrative functions include responsibility for records management including filing and scanning; managing off-site records inventory; managing and ordering office supply inventory; writing correspondence, creating certificates of commendation and writing proclamations on behalf of the Mayor. This position is also charged with maintaining multiple calendars, processing reservations and invoices and acting as primary administrative support for Council and the City Clerk. Excellent attention to detail, writing and proofreading skills are required and a positive upbeat attitude with the ability to be flexible, resilient, and creative when situations change is essential. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, a passion for making a difference and helping citizens, and a desire to grow in this field.

Some of the duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
