DEFINITION:
Under general direction of Recreation Supervisor and Recreation Program Coordinator, the Community and Recreation Program Specialist will assist in coordinating and implementing various community and recreation programs as well as assist with office duties, facility responsibilities, and perform related work as assigned.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
LARPD is seeking a summer intern to support the Summer Youth Volunteer Program. Applicants should have the equivalent of one year of college credits completed toward a degree. Candidates interested in learning about recreation, volunteer management, and community services will be given preference. Interested candidates should complete an application online. THE POSITION
To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work involving the trimming, removal, installation and general maintenance of trees.
The purpose of this recruitment is to hire a temporary/part-time position. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications for the Tree Trimmer I position may be considered for employment as an Intern. Work hours vary by assignment and may be required to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays. Position typically works 25-30 hours per week.
POSITION INFORMATION
The Seasonal Park Ranger Aide position requires flexibility with a variable schedule including split shifts and on call availability from May through Labor day. The site location is at Camp Shelly in South Lake Tahoe. Lodging will be provided.
