DEFINITION: Under supervision, drives the City’s 7-15 passenger van(s) and provides responsible, safe transport for senior citizens and the physically disabled. Schedule may include evenings, holidays and weekends; work schedule will not exceed 28 hours per week.

The Police Cadet program is a work training program for college students. Cadets will perform a variety of clerical and non-sworn duties in support of the Police Department personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include but not limited to the following):
Under close supervision of a sworn peace officer, this non-sworn police trainee classification is designed specifically and solely for the purpose of employing police officer candidates in a non-sworn status during the initial formalized basic police officer training phase.

Under the direction of the Development Services Director, serves as a key member of the Colton team by performing the full array of duties assigned to classes in the Planning series including a variety of supervisory, administrative and technical work in the current and long-range planning programs of the city related to the development and implementation of land use and related municipal plans and policies.

DEFINITION: The Cadet Program is designed to introduce recent high school graduates (ages 18 to 24) to a law enforcement career and to prepare them for entry into the Police Academy. Under direct supervision, the Cadet position performs a wide variety of police support duties and clerical assistance for the Fontana Police Department.
